A rather cloudy and mild night with winds slowly easing.

Tomorrow will see a cloudy start in places but a dry and fine day to come with bright or sunny spells:

More villages and towns are being cleaned up by volunteers in South Kesteven.

The Big Clean has seen volunteers visit 30 villages as well as parts of Grantham, Stamford and The Deepings to pick litter, pull weeds, clear up fly-tipping and mend broken bins and signs.

The council is urging more people to highlight other "grotspots" that need attention and to register as Big clean volunteers.

Conservationists in Lincolnshire are celebrating the birth of the first grey seal pup of the season.

The pup was born at Donna Nook National Nature Reserve which is managed by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.

Seal pups are born with a fluffy coat and most are born in November.

The Wildlife Trust hasn't announced a name for the new arrival so, as always, we'd love to hear your suggestions. But if anyone says Sealy McSealface, I'll be really cross...

Drunks and drug users have been causing problems in Grimsby town centre for months, shop and cafe owners in the town have said.

They say it's worst in the Riverhead area of town by the bus station and the police and council are now promising direct action.

There are already Public Space Protection Orders in place in some parts of the town and police say they have issued 500 orders since they were introduced.

Health watchdogs found some improvements after inspection but said "there is still work to be done".

People in a North Lincolnshire village say they're furious they're the latest community to lose their cash machine to thieves.

The machine, at Broughton, near Brigg, was ripped from the wall of the local supermarket by thieves using a JCB at about 03:00 this morning.

They damaged bollards as well as the building then the digger was abandoned.

This afternoon, builders have been busy working to make the building safe:

In Broughton, people have told me how much they rely on the village's only cash machine.

Police say a dark car and a distinctive van with no roof were spotted near the scene.

They're appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Almost two weeks after mustard gas canisters were found in woodland near Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue crews have finally left the scene.

Some of the other 22 agencies involved in the investigation are still present at Roughton Moor Woods where 140 canisters of mustard gas were found.

A further 10 canisters were discovered in a lake at nearby Stixwould, where the police cordon has been lifted.

Lincolnshire Police is to be the first force in the country to allow allow gun owners to register their firearms online.

It's estimated there are currently about 50,000 guns legally held by about 20,000 gun owners in Lincolnshire.

Police say they hope the new system, which is expected to be up and running next month, will significantly reduce the time it takes to apply for, or renew, a licence.

Marc Jones, Lincolnshire's Police and Crime Commissioner, says it'll be a much more efficient service:

Six years after Marks & Spencer left Skegness, a new M&S Foodhall is set to open next month.

The 7,500 sq ft store, at Burgh Retail Park, will open on Wednesday 1 November, creating 50 jobs.

Yesterday, Aldi announced it would open a branch at the same shopping complex next Thursday, creating another 40 jobs.

The latest children's book by acclaimed actor Alison Steadman has been illustrated by a Lincolnshire artist.

Lincoln-based illustrator Mark Chambers' work features in Steadman's new book Spider!

The book by the Abigail's Party, Secrets and Lies and Gavin and Stacey actor is about a little boy who befriends a big, hairy, scary spider which terrifies his family.

Work has started to make safe the Co-Op building in Broughton, near Brigg, after thieves used a JCB digger to steal a cash machine from the wall overnight.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a dark coloured car and a white van with no roof were seen speeding away from the scene.

The digger used in the raid is believed to have been stolen from North Lincolnshire.

The calendar raises money for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, with the photographs being submitted from around the county.

This year there were 130 entries, with a judging panel selecting the final 12 which will be in the calendar for 2018.

A JCB digger has been used to steal a cash machine from Broughton, near Brigg.

It was taken from the Co-Op supermarket on the High Street in the early hours of this morning.

The digger, which was stolen from North Lincolnshire tore a big hole in the side of the shop, before it was abandoned in a car park nearby.

A dark coloured car and a white van with the roof missing were seen speeding away from the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

The NHS trust which runs hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole is still failing - but improvements have been made, according to inspectors.

The health watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC) revisited hospitals run by the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals Trust in June, after it was put into special measures earlier this year.

Work is still needed to improve safety and management at Scunthorpe, external and Grimsby, external hospitals, but progress is being made, according to the CQC.

In a statement, external, Dr Peter Reading, the trust's chief executive, says he's "pleased" the CQC has recognised improvements but admits there is "a long journey ahead of us".

A house fire in Louth has now been extinguished by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue crews.

The fire is thought to have started at about 02:30 after an electrical fault within the roof of the property.

The building's occupants were already outside when fire crews arrived.

At its height, six fire engines and an aerial platform were used to tackle the blaze.

A total of 41 primary schools in Lincolnshire are to benefit from a boost in government funding.

An extra £495,758 is to be used to support the most vulnerable children in the county and will have a specific focus on English and literacy.

The project will see experienced head teachers and specialists helping other schools to improve performance.

There are calls for the use of RAF Reaper drones - which are operated from Lincolnshire - to be investigated by the government.

US government defence advisor Dr Larry Lewis says unmanned drone strikes are 10 times more likely to result in civilian casualties than conventional air strikes. But senior politicians have defended their use.

Chair of the Defence Select Committee Julian Lewis MP, says there is "a duty not to expose British forces to unnecessary risk".

The use of drones will be debated on this weekend's Sunday Politics from 11:00 on BBC One.
