    The A1 northbound is still closed this afternoon after a fatal accident and now the A15 is closed at Rippingale, near Bourne - also because of a crash.

    As the map below shows they're two of the main north/south routes through the county and traffic police say they're concerned about the impact during rush hour.

    Today we're celebrating the success of the seafood industry in Grimsby.

    According to a recent report - the Humber region has seen a 10% increase in full-time jobs within seafood processing since 2014.

    Industry leaders say there's scope for more growth, especially in the Grimsby area.

    Experts from the UK and across Europe are coming together today for the Humber Seafood Summit conference in Cleethorpes.

    The UK Fisheries Minister, George Eustice MP is the first to address the conference.

    Here's a picture that's just been released by Lincolnshire Police showing a man they want to speak to in relation to a burglary in Lincoln.

    Officers say the burglary happened on Tuesday September 5 when when a suspect entered a staff room at a premises in Newport and stole a handbag and personal belongings.

  6. A1 crash: Road could reopen at 16.00published at 15:23 British Summer Time 11 October 2017

    We've just heard from Simon Mansfield from the Highways Agency - he says the A1 northbound near Colsterworth may be open as early as 16.00.

    The road's been closed since the early hours of this morning after a fatal crash between a car and a lorry.

    There's currently a diversion via the A606 and A607 which goes through Melton - something Mr Mansfield said was "not ideal".

    He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire the closure had been necessary to resurface the road after the incident. Lincolnshire Police have not released details of the victims of the crash, who were travelling in the car.

    The two people who were travelling in the lorry have been arrested and are being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    Lincolnshire's only livestock market could be saved tonight - if councillors vote to keep it open.

    Louth's market faced closure - ending more than 400 years of livestock trading in the town.

    I'm at the scene of the A1 closure south of Grantham where the northbound carriageway between Stretton and Colsterworth remains closed after a fatal crash in the early hours of the morning.

    Police are still investigating what happened and they are yet to release any details of the victims, including how many people died.

    What we do know is that a car and a lorry were involved, and those killed were in the car.

    The two people in the lorry have been arrested and are being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

    The main road in Chapel St Leonards has been closed because of a fire, Lincolnshire Police have confirmed.

    Hopes of a lifeline for workers at BAE Systems in Brough have been dashed after the government said no new Hawk jets need to be built for the RAF Scampton-based Red Arrows at the moment.

    Yesterday, it was announced that 400 jobs would be lost at the East Yorkshire site.

    Union officials and MPs had called for an order for new Hawk jets for the famous Lincolnshire-based aerobatic team - parts for which are manufactured at the Brough plant - to be brought forward.

    But, the Ministry of Defence has now told BBC Look North that no new planes would be needed by the display team until 2030.

    A bus route used by thousands of people every year in Grimsby could be cut, it's emerged.

    North East Lincolnshire Council wants to reduce the Europarc bus service to save money.

    The route is run by stagecoach, but it's subsidised by the authority.

    The bus runs at least twice a day in the week and also on a Saturday at a cost to the council of about £200,000.

    There would still be a bus going to the Europarc but not as frequent.

    Councillors are expected to decide if the service will be reduced at a meeting later today.

    The road remains closed northbound but the southbound side has now reopened.

    You might remember the local council came in for some serious flak about a lack of Christmas lights.

    Well since then a group has been set up to put things right and today they say there'll be a return to something a bit more like this in 2017.

    More details are emerging this morning of a plan to spend £40m to kick-start economic growth in part of Lincolnshire.

    South Kesteven District Council unveiled a scheme yesterday which includes two new leisure centres and a cultural quarter for Grantham.

    Council leader Matthew Lee told the BBC this morning he has £30m in reserve - not enough to fund all the projects.

    He explained he planned to use part of the council's £30m reserve and borrow the rest. He hopes it will give private investors the confidence to also invest in the area.
