    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

What a spot this morning by someone working for Lincolnshire's RSPB!

It could be a stoat, or a small-tailed weasel..

We can barely see it on the video, so how they saw it in real life at Frampton Marsh I don't know:

  2. Roadworks 'exacerbate' Lincoln level crossing problem - Councillorpublished at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2017

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Roadworks in Lincoln may have "exacerbated" crowd problems at the city's level crossing at the weekend, according to a Lincolnshire councillor.

The roadworks meant there was limited space on the pavement, which caused crowds at peak shopping times on Saturday:

    Crowds at level crossing

Lincolnshire County Council decided not to postpone work on the roads nearby to avoid "prolonging the agony for the people who use the area and visit the area".

Councillor Colin Davie says: "It's better to get these works finished and get the whole thing properly opened again for the public and businesses."

Network Rail has done the right thing by planning to introduce attendants to manage the flow of pedestrians through the barriers at busy times, Mr Davie adds.

    Quote Message

I share the frustration of the public in that that these works had to be done. In addition to the railway bridge crossing, they have really exacerbated the problem."

Workers at Morrisons in Lincoln are hosting the event to bring together veterans who've served in the armed forces.

Ann Davidson, a Poppy Appeal organiser, says in the past the event's reunited people who'd not met for decades.

    Quote Message

We had two gentleman last year, both turned up to the evening tea, and they looked at each other, and recognised each. They both lived in the Lincoln area and neither of them had bumped into each other for 40 years, and yet they served together."

  5. Cardiac arrest newsreader meets lifesaverspublished at 10:43 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2017

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

A BBC newsreader from Lincolnshire has now met all the people who helped save her life a year ago after she suffered a cardiac arrest while out running.

    cpr life savers

Charlotte Wright, who works for BBC Lincolnshire, had already met the passers-by who resuscitated her with life-saving CPR (pictured above).

But, she's now met for the first time the 999 operator who took the call which saved her, and the paramedics who arrived at the scene.

    Quote Message

I had this call through to say there's a lady collapsed in uphill Lincoln, we don't think she's breathing. Your mind then runs into the procedures. The guy who was dealing with Charlotte at the time was brilliant. Between us, Charlotte's here today and she's proof that the system works."

Katie Fletcher, Emergency Medical Dispatcher East Midlands Ambulance Service

The Save a Life Campaign, which was inspired by Charlotte, has now trained 18,000 people with CPR - or Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - skills.

  7. Patient care will not be jeopardised treatment move - Hospitals trustpublished at 09:44 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2017

    Kimberley Metcalfe
    BBC Local Live

The trust that runs hospitals in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole says patient care won't be harmed by moving complex chemotherapy treatments from Grimsby to Castle Hill near Hull.

    Chemotherapy ward

The decision was made by the North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust who say the move is partly due to staff shortages.

Cancer patients with the most complex needs will in future be sent to Castle Hill hospital in Cottingham for their treatment.

It's thought that around 70 people a year will be affected by these new arrangements.

Outpatient and day case haematology appointments will continue to be offered as they are now at both Scunthorpe and Grimsby

  8. Lincolnshire woman convicted of murdering autistic teenpublished at 09:29 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2017

A Lincolnshire woman has been convicted of murdering an autistic teenager in Australia.

Both are due to be sentenced in February.

  9. Margaret Thatcher puppet back on show in Granthampublished at 08:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2017

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

A puppet of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is to be put back on display at Grantham Museum.

    Margaret Thatcher pupppet

The puppet, from the 1980s and 1990s satirical sketch show Spitting Image, portrayed the then Prime Minister - who was from Grantham - as a masculine woman who wore pinstripe suits and used urinals.

The puppet had been in storage at Grantham's museum, but is now back on display.

David Burling, from the museum, says although the puppet made fun of the Prime Minister it has become a piece of history.

    Quote Message

Spitting Image at the time was the first real thumb in the nose of authority on TV and I think it's iconic itself. Some of the household names now, like Ben Elton and Ian Hislop, cut their teeth on Spitting Image. The controversy is an interesting conversation, I want people to be able to have it, so let's tell that story too."

    David Burling, Grantham Museum

  10. 'Dangerous' crowds at level crossing spark safety fearspublished at 08:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2017

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Network rail say there'll be attendants at Lincoln's Level crossing this weekend because of safety concerns.

    Crowds

Repair work on the footbridge means pavement space has been reduced and caused unusually large crowds waiting at the barriers (pictured).

One eyewitness said that the crowds hadn't filtered through after waiting for one train before barriers came down for a second.

    Quote Message

There's another train coming before you've all got through, so there's still a mass of people on the line when the barriers are trying to come down. You get so many that rush through and then the others have to just wait, but it is dangerous and nobody is monitoring it.

  17. Appeal over theft of firefighters uniformpublished at 17:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Martin Slack
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

A strange one this. Police have issued an appeal for the safe return of a firefighter's uniform that was stolen from a car in Lincolnshire.

The uniform apparently went missing overnight between Tuesday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 18 from a car in Commercial Road, Louth.

Officers say it was branded with a London Fire Service logo, but it's not clear whether the uniform was being used by a genuine firefighter, an enthusiast or someone else who might need a fireman's uniform for their job.

  18. RAF stowaways said they were from Sudanpublished at 17:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Martin Slack

In a statement a Home Office spokesman said: "Immigration Enforcement was contacted by Lincolnshire Police on Sunday 29 October after police officers attended an incident at RAF Waddington.

"Police officers arrested three men aged between 22 and 27, who presented themselves as being from Sudan.

"The Home Office will progress their cases in accordance with immigration rules. Where someone has no right to remain in the UK, we will take action to remove them."

  20. Grimsby MP Melanie Onn seeks answers over cancer servicespublished at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 November 2017

    Jonathan Willis
    BBC Look North

The MP for Great Grimsby Melanie, Onn wants to know why some cancer treatment are being moved miles away from Grimsby to East Yorkshire.

    Diana Princess of Wales hospital

The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole (NLAG) hospitals trust is moving some cancer treatments to Castle Hill hospital in Cottingham.

It's because they haven't got enough consultants in haematology.

The chief executive of NLAG, Richard Sunley, says the service has been fragile.

    Quote Message

With annual leave and sickness taken into account its a fragile service. Now one of the two consultants has handed in their notice. On that basis we are not able to continue running the service with just one consultant."

Richard Sunley, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospital Trust
