    It's just been announced that there will be no Scampton Airshow in 2018, after the organisers said they wanted to "reflect" on this year's event.

    In a statement just released the airshow's chief executive Andy Armstrong said he wanted to "consider the many lessons learnt with the ambition of running an event in 2019".

    People who use a patient transport service in Lincolnshire have agreed with stinging official criticism delivered by a health watchdog yesterday.

    Members of Lincolnshire County Council's health scrutiny committee passed a unanimous vote of no-confidence in Thames Ambulance Service Ltd.

    Since then, patients have been in contact with BBC Radio Lincolnshire to tell their stories.

    One woman said her husband had been refused transport by the company altogether.

    Scunthorpe United have appointed former England cricketer Sir Ian Botham as their new club president.

    Botham, 62, scored over 7,000 runs and took more than 500 wickets for England and also played professional football, making 11 appearances for Scunthorpe between 1980 and 1985.

    He is the club's first president since John Godfrey, who died in 2015.

    People who are homeless or at risk of being homeless are being asked by North Lincolnshire Council to get in touch.

    The council says it has a housing advice team on hand to provide support.

    Overnight accommodation is also available to anyone sleeping rough during this cold spell.

    The local authority is also working with The Forge Project in Scunthorpe which offers a befriending service and warm meals.

    The Forge will be open on selected days during the holiday period and more details are available on their website, external.

    North Lincolnshire Council says it's looking at a couple of possible sites for a new indoor market in Scunthorpe town centre, adding a street market alone is not an option.

    It's all part of plans to invest £60m in the centre.

    Now 19,000 people have signed a petition against the idea of moving the market from the current location on to the high street, with a meeting being held to discuss the situation today.

    The council says negotiations on the new site are in the final stages and should be concluded in the new year.

    If you live in the North Kesteven area of Lincolnshire you're being offered help to find your way through council services online.

    Sleaford-based North Kesteven District Council says as increased contact is made with council officers on the internet, some people are getting left behind.

    The authority has already set up digital "hubs" in Heckington and Ruskington and now there will also be one in Osbournby.

    Britain must "take back control" of its share of the art and wine owned by the European Union when it leaves according to a Lincolnshire MP.

    Gainsborough's Sir Edward Leigh said the EU is thought to have a wine cellar stocked with more than 42,000 bottles, and has artwork worth more than £13 million.

    The Tory Brexiteer urged the Government to "promise" to not leave the goods for European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker to enjoy.

    Woodland where containers holding mustard gas were found back in October will remain closed to the public for the foreseeable future, council chiefs have said today.

    Roughton Woods, near Woodhall Spa, were closed to the public for safety reasons after 140 canisters of the substance were discovered and there's still security on site to keep people out.

    East Lindsey District Council, which is overseeing the operation, says it is still waiting for the results of soil samples before the area can be reopened.

    Drivers are being urged to check their cars after Humberside Police found an alarming number of faulty vehicles on our region's roads.

  12. Grants for events and activities in Cleethorpespublished at 10:33 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2017

    It's emerged that £170,000 is being made available for organisations looking to put on events and activities in the Cleethorpes area.

    The money will come from the government's coastal communities pot which awarded £3.8m to the town earlier in the year.

    CoastNEL, the group responsible for distributing the funds, says a number of grants are up for grabs, including up to £500 for small community groups and £15,000 for professional events.

    Applications for the first funding session must be made by 28 February 2018.

    Lincolnshire Police say they carried out more than 100 breath tests on drivers in Lincoln last night.

    One driver was arrested after testing positive for drugs and two vehicles were seized for having no insurance.

    A total of 112 drivers were tested.

    It comes after Lincolnshire Police said it would name and shame those caught over the limit over the Christmas period.

    A petition signed by 19,000 people against the proposed move of Scunthorpe Market will be discussed by the council today.

    The plans would see the market move onto the high street from its current location, where it's been for decades.

    It's part of £60m plans to regenerate the town centre but North Lincolnshire Council says no decision has been made on the future of the market.

    If so, it'll cost you three times more to see the film in Lincoln as it will in Hull.

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire has found The Last Jedi in 3D costs £15 to see at the Lincoln Odeon - whereas at the Hull Odeon, it only costs £5.75.

    Odeon says it uses a "dynamic pricing system" to work out prices in different areas.
