    Harry Parkhill

Organisers of the Lincoln Christmas Market say they'll be having talks with traders following the cancellation of the final day.

The event commander Simon Walters says stallholders "should look to their insurance policy".

    Quote Message

This is an open air event, it's subject to weather conditions. We always advise traders to take their own insurance out. So we would expect traders to look at their own insurance policy first and hopefully that will cover them for eventualities like this"

    Simon Walters, Event commander

The City of Lincoln Council has apologised but says it acted on information from the highways department.

  6. Lincoln Christmas Market closure: Your viewspublished at 10:05 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2017

Well it's not just stallholders who are angry about the cancellation of the last day of Lincoln's Christmas Market.

    Market closed

With people travelling from across the country for the weekend it seems the punters aren't best pleased either:

    Quote Message

The council really need to communicate with their counterparts in other European cities to find out how they all manage to hold Christmas markets in the snow. The white stuff, as well as being perfectly normal in winter, definitely adds to the festive atmosphere.

Rubbish! I'm from Bucharest, Romania and our Christmas Market is held every year from 1st of December until 27th of December, no matter what the weather is looking like (usually up to -25 degrees, and 1-3 meters of snow).
