    It's been postponed four times, so Gainsborough Trinity's players are breathing a sigh of relief after their FA Trophy tie at Spennymoor Town was confirmed for this evening.

    There was a pitch inspection in the last hour after the ground at Spennymoor was still partly frozen this morning.

    It's a swift return to the north east for the Blues, who lost heavily at Blyth Spartans in National League North at the weekend.

    Manager Dave Frecklington (above) says he wants to see a marked improvement this evening after his side went down 4-0 on Saturday.

    A community lottery for local projects and charities is to be created in Lincoln.

    City of Lincoln Council is to set up its own lottery with weekly prizes ranging from £25 to £25,000.

  4. Police seize more dogs in hare coursing operationpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

    These three dogs are among the latest seized by Lincolnshire Police in its ongoing battle against illegal hare coursing in the county.

    Officers say they were seized after two men were arrested yesterday in West Barkwith near Market Rasen following an allegation of hare coursing in Marshchapel.

    The two men have been released under investigation.

  5. Concern grows for missing skierpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

    A skier from Lincolnshire is missing in the French Alps.

    John Bromell from Willingham by Stow near Gainsborough hasn't been seen since Sunday afternoon in the resort of Tignes.

    French police say they are about to start searching for Mr Bromell.

    They couldn't search yesterday because of the weather conditions - where more than a metre of snow is reported to have fallen over the last 24 hours.

  6. Lincolnshire MP believed to be leaving job in reshufflepublished at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

    The MP for South Holland and the Deepings, John Hayes, is understood to be leaving his job at the Department for Transport as part of the prime minister's cabinet reshuffle.

    The BBC's been told that Mr Hayes is leaving the Government alongside Philip Dunne at the Department for Health, and Robert Goodwill at the Department for Education.

    More than 750 homes are experiencing power problems south of Lincoln at the moment.

    Western Power Distribution engineers are working to resolve it and the company says power should be restored completely by 13:00.

    Lincolnshire's Paula Jacklin is in first-round action at the BDO World Darts Championships at Lakeside this afternoon.

    Two years ago Paula's walk-on at Lakeside went viral when she appeared draped in the Lincolnshire flag. Here it is again in case you didn't see it the first time:

    Paula, from Gainsborough, is seeded 11th for the tournament - she's up against the Dutch second seed Aileen De Graaf.

    It's not certain if she'll repeat the walk-on drama later.

  10. Traveller site raided by policepublished at 10:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

    Police say they are targeting "specific individuals" in a raid on a traveller site near Brigg this morning.

    Detectives say they are at the River View traveller site on Mill Lane, Brigg, (below) "conducting a series of warrants in connection with an increase in crime in Brigg, Scunthorpe and surrounding areas".

    A spokesman said: "We know that the vast majority of the residents at River View are law abiding and hard-working and are integral members of our local community.

    "However, it is important to understand that we have information on specific individuals and it is those who we are looking to arrest and question in relation to reported crimes."

  11. House fire in Gainsboroughpublished at 10:32 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

    Two fire engines from Lincolnshire and one from Nottinghamshire have been called to a blaze in a terraced street in Gainsborough.

    Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue says it has two crews, one from Gainsborough and one from Saxilby at the scene. An engine from Retford has also been called.

    A spokesman said no injuries have been reported so far in the fire on Dickinson Terrace (pictured above).

    Lincoln City will look to reach the quarter finals of the EFL Trophy this evening as they travel to League One strugglers Rochdale.

    Michael Bostwick (below centre) is expected to line up in central defence for the Imps following the departures of Sean Raggett and Rob Dickie.

    Manager Danny Cowley says that although City are short of numbers, it's a good opportunity for them to reach the last eight.

  13. Work under way on two burst mainspublished at 09:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2018

    Engineers will continue work today working to fix two water mains which have burst in Lincoln.

    Anglian Water says one lane will be closed southbound on Broadgate - one of the busiest roads in the city centre - until tomorrow.

    It has also been dealing with a problem on nearby St Marks Street overnight.

    A community group in Lincoln says it's impressed by the level of support after a clothes rail for the homeless was destroyed by fire.

    The arson attack happened on Grantham Street in the city last week and since then a number of people have come forward to say they want to contribute towards a replacement.

    There's been a crash on the university bridge in Lincoln city centre this morning which is causing traffic problems.

    Three vehicles are involved in the incident on the bridge - also known as Brayford Way - and police are at the scene.
