    A family in Spalding will be jumping for joy after their trampoline, which went missing in high winds, was found.

    A post on social media was widely shared after their trampoline blew away overnight.

    Luckily, it was discovered embedded in a hedge nearby.

    Drivers in Boston are facing major traffic problems just now after the closure of Sluice Bridge in the town.

    The bridge and Fydell Street are closed between Irby Street and Witham Bank East (pictured).

    It's to replace the traffic lights there with a new type of crossing.

    A bus stop in Grimsby is providing patients with dementia a quiet and safe place to help prevent them from becoming unsettled and anxious.

    The Health Tree Foundation (HTF), the official charity for Grimsby Hospital, has teamed up with Stagecoach East Midlands.

    The national bus operator has provided a replica bus stop complete with a timetable, with the charity providing seats and wall art.

    The stop, which is on ward B4, has a real timetable of bus services in North Lincolnshire, three pull down seats and the wall is decorated with trees, flowers and birds.

    Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire's air ambulance is to start operating 24 hours a day.

    At the moment, crews only respond to medical emergencies between 07:00 and 19:00.

    The charity says it will increase the annual running costs from £2.5m to £4m.

    But the charity says its confident it will be able to raise the money needed.

  5. Travel: Winds bring road and rail disruptionpublished at 09:35 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2018

    High winds overnight have affected the travel network across Lincolnshire.

    Some of the roads affected by fallen trees are:

    • A156 in Fenton
    • Roman Bank in Spalding
    • A607 in Fulbeck
    • A15 in Bourne
    • A158 at Horncastle
    • Broughton Lane in Harmston

    Some coach services say they're not operating this morning: Cropley Coaches in the Boston area and are Fowlers Travel near Spalding aren't operating their morning services.

    The weather has also caused 30-minute delays on the East Coast Mainline after a tree fell on the overhead lines in Stevenage.

    More than 80 trees have been blown over in high winds in Lincolnshire overnight.

    Lincolnshire Police say they need help removing them.

    Western Power Distribution say they've restored power supply to thousands of homes, but say there are still over 1,000- properties without electricity.

    The power supply firm says they're dealing with 60 faults, 20 of which are high voltage.

  8. Police appeal for help after 72mph windspublished at 08:18 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2018

    Police are appealing for help to clear trees after high winds overnight have blown down at least 33 across the county.

    The force is appealing for anyone with the "relevant training", equipment and ability to clear trees to get in touch.

    Winds overnight reached 72mph in parts of Stamford.

    About 3,000 homes were left without power, with more than 1,200 of those between Sleaford and Bourne.

    Butlins is, of course, well known for its Red Coats who sing and dance on stage at its resort in Lincolnshire.

    But today they're recruiting for the slightly less glamorous roles at the resort at Ingoldmells, near Skegness, with a job fair being held to encourage people to work there.

    However, in typical holiday resort style, the famous holiday company has managed to put a bit of razzle dazzle even into the most mundane of tasks.

    A Westminster debate on vagrancy is being held, with Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers saying traders in the town are urging action on beggars.

    Mr Vickers says the town owes it to its traders to tackle the problem, with a recent report by North East Lincolnshire Council finding that 16 people beg on the streets there, despite having a home.

    The housing and homelessness minister has said that begging is an offence under the Vagrancy Act 1824.

    He added that the government hopes to halve rough sleeping by 2022, and eliminate it altogether by 2027.

    A teenager has been left with a facial injury after being hit with a glass or bottle in a pub in Louth.

    It happened last saturday at the Wetherspoons pub in the town.

    A man in his 20s has been arrested and released under investigation.

    Police are asking for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.

    The Co-operative Bank has announced it's to close several branches across the country, including one in Lincoln and one in Hull.

    The Hull branch will close on 17 May, while Lincoln's will shut on 24 May.

    The Co-operative Bank says it's closing the banks because more customers are choosing to use online banking services.

    In a statement, the bank adds that it apologises for any inconvenience caused.

    Highways bosses in Lincolnshire are meeting with business leaders this week to discuss major improvements to the county's infrastructure.

    It's part of the County Council's desire to connect the coast with the western parts of Lincolnshire.

    Richard Davies, who's in charge of highways, says the A158 between Lincoln and Skegness (pictured) is a particular target for major improvements.

  18. Appeal over Cleethorpes assaultpublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2018

    Police are asking for help in finding a man in connection with an assault on another man in Cleethorpes earlier this month.

    The victim was pushing a pram with his friend along Daubney Street at about midday on 4 January when a man approached him and assaulted him.

    The man suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

    Anyone with information about the incident, details of which have only been released today, is being asked to contact police.

    Lincolnshire businesses are being encouraged to work together to promote the county's produce at a business fair today.

    Talks at the Lincolnshire Business Expo are focusing on areas of growth for the county's businesses.

    Expo founder Dean Graham says he wants to try and help Lincolnshire firms buy from each other to encourage the county's development.

  20. Closure of Grantham A&E referred to Health Secretary againpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2018

    The decision to close Grantham's A&E unit overnight has yet again been referred by the committee which scrutinises healthcare in the county to the government.

    Grantham Hospital restricted its A&E opening hours in August 2016 due to a shortage of doctors.

    Lincolnshire's Health Scrutiny Committee says the decision "was not only incorrect, but incorrectly taken".

    The issue has previously been referred to the government, but it was decided that a full review wasn't necessary.

    However,the NHS in Lincolnshire has been urged to be more "open and honest" about the future of its services.
