    A health watchdog says it's "almost impossible" to find an NHS dentist in Lincolnshire after plans to open four new practices failed.

    Last year, NHS England promised to open new practices in Sleaford, Boston, Spalding and Lincoln, but nobody came forward to run them.

    Healthwatch Lincolnshire says it's had an unprecedented number of calls from worried patients.

    The Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner Keith Hunter wants people to give their views on plans to increase the policing element of council tax bills.

    Mr Hunter says the increase could help pay for more officers.

    A gang of masked men broke into a house in Grimsby in the early hours of Friday morning and threatened the couple living there.

    Humberside Police say one of the masked suspects suffered a head injury in the incident on Eleanor Street at around 03:00 on Friday 12 January.

    Officers say a tablet computer and a mobile phone were stolen in the raid.

    The man and woman in the property were unhurt.

    Humberside Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact them.

    Train services between Lincolnshire and Nottingham are running as normal today following Friday's fire.

    However, parts of the station, including the ticket office, are still closed after suffering major damage in the blaze.

    The BBC's Hayley Compton said smoke could still be smelled throughout the building, which is also without water.

    The fire, which started in the ladies' toilets on Friday morning, is being treated as arson and police are studying CCTV footage.

    Detectives investigating a fire which destroyed clothing donated for the homeless in Lincoln have released a CCTV image of a man they want to question.

    The fire at Compassionate Lincoln's warm rail for rough sleepers is being treated as arson.

    It happened on Grantham Street in the city on 5 January.

    After 120 years, Ashby Cons Social Club in Scunthorpe says it can no longer compete with the smoking ban and cheaper supermarket alcohol.

    A motorcyclist is in hospital with possible life-changing injuries following a crash on the A16 in Lincolnshire.

    The rider was in a collision with a car near North Thoresby yesterday afternoon.

    Officers are appealing for witnesses.

    Sprinkler systems are being installed in four of Scunthorpe's high rise flats.

    Ongo Homes, which owns the buildings, says it is investing £800,000 following the fatal fire at Grenfell Tower in London in June 2017.

    Sprinklers are being installed at Princess House, Sutton House, Crosby House and Trent View House.

    The sprinklers will be put in each flat and communal areas.

  13. Knife-wielding robber threatens pregnant shopworker in Bostonpublished at 09:46 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a pregnant shopworker was threatened during an armed robbery in Boston.

    It happened just before 13:00 on Friday at the Foodstop on Vauxhall Road in the town.

    The offender went into the shop armed with a kitchen knife and demanded money from the pregnant member of staff.

    He was given cash from the till, along with cigarettes and whisky, before leaving.

    The woman working in the shop was left shaken but not hurt.

    Meanwhile, officers are also appealing for information after a robbery at O & M Market Shop on Witham Place in Boston on Saturday night.

    Two men, one armed with a knife, took a quantity of cash from the till.

    It's not believed the two incidents are linked.

  14. Carillion liquidation: Lincoln bypass work delayedpublished at 08:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2018

    Lincolnshire County Council has confirmed Carillion's work on Lincoln's Eastern Bypass has stopped.

    The construction firm has gone into liquidation this morning.

    The council's director of highways, Richard Wills, says "there will now be a delay of weeks or months".

    The new bypass will link the A158 Wragby Road with the A15 Sleaford Road.

    Staff at Morton Hall Immigration Centre say they put out a small fire in one of the cells yesterday.

    There were no injuries - and the fire was put out quickly.
