Lesley Jayne Mooney, 57, of Brenton Avenue, pleaded guilty at an earlier court hearing to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and to handling stolen goods.

Humberside Police searched her home in March 2017 where they found her holding a black plastic parcel with a number of wraps of drugs inside.

Officers found over 2,000 items believed to have been stolen, including bags full of boxed watches, make-up, deodorants, chocolate and DVDs.

    Quote Message

I am pleased that the courts have passed this sentence today which should serve as a warning to others that drug dealing will not be tolerated and we will work with the courts to take dealers off the streets."

    Sgt Dan Healey, Humberside Police

You'll be checking your own furniture after reading this! Around £15,000 has been discovered tucked away in a chest of drawers in Lincolnshire.

    Drawers

The Georgian furniture came into John Taylors Auctioneers in Louth. While preparing it for sale they came across a secret drawer containing the hoard of antique treasures:

Here are just a couple of the items:

James Laverack, from the auctioneers, says its common to find these compartments, but never with pieces of this value:

    Quote Message

As I worked it open a bit you could see these jewellery boxes in it. I took one out and then another and then another until we had around 30 of them. The chest of drawers itself will probably only go for around £100.

  9. Watch: Pupils 'feel safe' again after school stabbingpublished at 10:26 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

The deputy head of a North Lincolnshire School where a support worker was stabbed says pupils now feel safe again thanks to the help of the community and educational psychologists.

School support worker Joy Simon was seriously injured after being attacked by a student at Winterton Community Academy, near Scunthorpe, four months ago.

The school's deputy headteacher, Robert Featherstone, says procedures there have now been changed:

  10. Lincolnshire farmers welcome new food labelling planspublished at 10:02 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

Farmers in Lincolnshire say government plans to make food labelling rules clearer when Britain leaves the European Union will boost business for them.

    Food on shelves

Most meat products currently have to show which country they come from, apart from processed meat or where it's an ingredient in a ready meal.

Some argue this doesn't distinguish British produce from meat reared abroad.

John Gatenby, a Lincolnshire farmer who also represents the National Farmers Union, says some of that food from abroad is produced to a lower standard:

    Quote Message

That lets them undercut us in price...From a producer's point of view, we'd like to see us get a fair return for what we produce."

    John Gatenby, NFU

  11. Ambulance service: 'We're doing the right things'published at 09:29 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

More now on the embattled firm which runs Hull and Lincolnshire's non-emergency transport services.

Thames Ambulance Service (TASL) has come under fire for failing to meet targets and letting down patients and has been given a three-month deadline to turn things around.

In a statement, the firm says it's now moving in the right direction:

    Quote Message

TASL knows we haven't yet got everything right for all our patients. But we are doing the right things and we are all working to ensure patients get the non-urgent transport service they deserve."

Health officials say the service is being monitored very closely.

  12. Silver screen revival under way in Lincolnshirepublished at 08:57 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Lights, camera, action! It's good news if you're a silver screen fanatic because five major cinema projects are under way or on the cards for the county.

The small Nottingham-based chain Savoy Cinemas will be building a five-screen cinema as part of a £5m complex in Grantham.

It's also revamping its West End cinema in Boston (pictured below), giving it a new look and upgrading the screens and sound system.

Meanwhile, one of the quirkiest cinemas in the county, the Kinema in the Woods in Woodhall Spa, is looking to expand with a third screen and a new auditorium:

And there are plans for a new cinema in Sleaford as well, though these are still in the early stages.

One of the sites being looked at is around the back of the Corn Exchange building in the town.

Finally, the Everyman chain is coming to Lincoln. It wants its cinema to be glass-fronted, have four screens and include a restaurant and rooftop terrace bar.

  13. 'Loss of faith' over ambulance service - MPpublished at 08:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

Thames Ambulance Service, which provides non-emergency transport in Hull and Lincolnshire, is still failing to meet any of its key targets, according to new figures seen by the BBC.

    Ambulance

The service has been given just three months to improve or it could face losing the Lincolnshire contract which is worth £25m.

The MP for Grimsby, Melanie Onn, is demanding that ambulance bosses discuss their performance with other local MPs:

    Quote Message

The reality is that they have not been delivering on that contract. There's a serious loss of faith and really perhaps the call needs to be to the Clinical Commissioning Groups to say you need to find someone else."

    Melanie Onn, Grimsby Labour MP
