Medical experts are bringing diabetes care under one roof in a bid to prevent patients from being passed from department to department.

Doctors say that treating issues early on can help prevent limb amputation.

    Quote Message

Amputations occur in patients with diabetes at a very prime age. If we could just prevent 80% of the amputations with the right treatment then you can imagine it's not just about the patient's quality of life, it's about their whole social aspect, their family life, everything."

    Quote Message

It's going to take 20 weeks, but it'll be well worth the effort. You can't work on the road system of a Roman city without causing additional congestion through that period of time."

  7. Sleaford swimming pool plans make a splashpublished at 08:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2018

North Kesteven District Council rejected St George's Academy's plans for a pool because the school "failed to demonstrate sufficient need for such additional facilities".

The plans also "potentially undermine the viability of existing public facilities", the council adds.

The decision has caused anger because it's claimed the current pool is too busy for schoolchildren to learn how to swim:

    Quote Message

The current one doesn't provide for everybody. It's sometimes full, and people aren't able to access classes there. There are 2,200 children in that school who currently cannot access swimming lessons during school time, that means only children whose parents have time and money to take them will be able to learn."
