    Now, you might not know this, but the vacuum cleaner tycoon James Dyson owns quite a lot of farms here in Lincolnshire.

    His farming company Beeswax Dyson has sent staff out today with machinery to try and help clear the roads.

    We've been telling you today about a bridegroom who seemed to be about to miss his own wedding because of the snow this morning.

    Well look what's just happened:

    Mike Enright's father William called BBC Radio Lincolnshire this morning in an attempt to find somebody to help them.

    The groom's party were stuck in Horncastle, the wedding was in Lincoln.

    After the radio appeal a local garage got in touch and offered to send a couple of 4x4s to help them out.

    A Lincolnshire bridegroom - left stranded 25 miles from his wedding venue - eventually arrived with just over an hour to spare.

    Mike Enright's dad William called BBC Radio Lincolnshire to appeal for help after the groom's party got stuck in snow at Horncastle.

    Lincoln Audi came to the rescue - sending two 4x4s - which arrived at the Lincoln Hotel with just a bit of time to spare.

    Mike (above right) and his best man Ben Yarnell (above left) are breathing a sigh of relief.

    The wedding's due to take place at the hotel well, within minutes now!

    Scunthorpe United are asking for volunteers to help clear the pitch at Glanford Park ahead of their match at the weekend

    The Iron are due to take on Oldham Athletic on Saturday, but the pitch is currently under a layer of snow.

    A Lincolnshire couple are hoping their wedding goes ahead after the groom got stranded in the snow 25 miles from the venue.

    Gina Metcalf's husband-to-be, Mike Enright, is stranded in Horncastle and is struggling to get to the Lincoln Hotel where the pair are due to wed.

    The weather has left Mr Enright, his parents, and best man Ben Yarnell unable to reach Ms Metcalf.

    After Mr Enright senior called BBC Radio Lincolnshire about the family's plight, a local garage got in touch and offered to send a 4x4 to transport the party along with the wedding cake and flowers.

    It's hoped the party will be together for the wedding at 16.00.

  14. More than 40 road closures across the countypublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2018

    The emergency services in Lincolnshire say they are still struggling to get to some rural and coastal communities due to snowdrifts and blocked roads.

    Lincolnshire Police say there have been 44 road closures between 05.00 and 11.00 today.

    Officers are also warning you to stay off any roads which have been closed.

    Here's a picture sent in by Tracey from Hemswell on the B1398 about an hour ago.

    Another farmer coming to the rescue of a driver who's been unable to keep his vehicle on the road in difficult conditions.

    And it looks like this lorry - on the A15 at Owmby by Spital - could also do with some help. It ended up in the ditch at about 11:00 today, leaving the driver stranded.

    Lincolnshire Police say the conditions on some roads are easing - but officers have repeated the advice to only travel if absolutely necessary.

    Councillors in Sleaford have decided to postpone their meetings today because of the bad weather.

    Bin collections have also been cancelled by the authority.

    The council says it is taking advice from the police - officers say you should not travel at all because many roads are impassable.

  20. Police appeal for tractor drivers to help in snowpublished at 11:56 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2018

    Lincolnshire Police are now appealing to the farming community to help with snow ploughing on roads particularly over the Lincolnshire Wolds and the east of the county.

    Senior officers say they also need people with off-road qualifications and 4X4 vehicles and the ability to carry passengers to help move essential staff.
