    Lincolnshire Resilience Forum, the emergency team coordinating the county's response to the heavy snow, has called for back-up from the military.

    It's hoped the RAF will provide vehicles and the Army will provide drivers to assist vulnerable people requiring social care.

    North Lincolnshire Council says its teams have been continuously gritting and snow ploughing the roads.

    Lincolnshire Police say they're looking at bringing in the Army to help reach the most vulnerable people in the county.

    I'm at Police HQ in Nettleham where they've been monitoring the situation all day - Deputy Chief Constable Craig Naylor says they may be needed to help reach people with health conditions:

    Severe delays remain on the M1 southbound due to investigation and recovery work following a serious crash near Hemel Hempstead.

    Queues are now back to junction 11a, the Dunstable bypass.

    A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a lorry and a car crashed at 05:30.

    The bad weather is causing problems for the service which delivers meals to elderly and vulnerable in North East Lincolnshire.

    Hot dinner

    Care 4 All, the charity which runs the service, is appealing for 4x4 drivers to help get the meals out to those who need them.

    It says the snow is making it difficult for cars to get around as blizzard conditions continue in North East Lincolnshire.

    I've been out in the snow at Barnetby Top and it's genuinely shin-deep out there right now:

    I've seen lorries slipping and sliding all over the place by the garage.

    My windscreen wipers have frozen stiff and other motorists are pulling over with similar issues.

    Western Power Distribution says the lights - and, perhaps more importantly just now, the heaters - are back on in most properties hit by a power cut in Grantham this morning.

    Earlier, over 200 properties were left without power, but fewer than 30 are still affected, the firm says.

    However, about 60 properties in the Langrick Bridge area, near Boston, have now suffered a power cut of their own.

    Roads in Lincolnshire have been badly affected by the snow. Here are the latest details:

    The A1 is now moving slowly between Peterborough and Stamford, but it is now closed at the Colsterworth Services junction.

    The B1198 is currently closed at Scampton Hill.

    The A46 Lincoln Bypass is closed eastbound between the Carholme and Riseholme roundabouts because of stuck lorries.

    A153: Closed both ways between Low Toynton Road and A16 (Louth).

    A157 Grimblethorpe Hill at Gayton le Wold: Impassable for most vehicles.

    Langton Hill, South West of Horncastle: Cars are struggling to get up the hill towards Woodhall Spa.

    Lincolnshire Police have now declared a "critical incident" in response to the harsh weather we're seeing today.

    They've told me there have been 68 incidents since 07:00. Luckily none have resulted in serious injury so far.

    Some people have been stuck for hours on the A46 Lincoln bypass.
