    A service which helps vulnerable people in Lincolnshire says it will have to scale back its operations if funding is cut.

    The county council is looking to stop funding some of the Citizens Advice Bureau's (CAB) services.

    If it goes ahead, one member of staff would lose their job.

    The authority says it would continue to fund the core service, which includes help with debt and housing problems.

    The council says the intensive service it offers is already available elsewhere, but workers at the CAB say it will mean vulnerable people lose out:

    There are fears that independent, family-run businesses could close if a Costa Coffee comes to Horncastle.

    A hardware shop in the town's market place (pictured) is closing because its owner is retiring, and the coffee chain is in line to move in.

    But there are concerns that a major chain could affect the small market town's aesthetics and crowd out family-run businesses.

    Plans for a new cinema in Sleaford have been backed by senior councillors.

    It's part of wider proposals to revitalise the town centre.

    North Kesteven District Council could invest £1.5m in the project.

    Lincolnshire County Council says while progress is being made it's still too early to say when Lincoln's Eastern Bypass will be finished.

    Sleet and snow is forecast to fall overnight from around midnight to 11:00 tomorrow morning.

    Forecasters say some roads and train services are likely to be affected and it could result in longer journey times.

    It's being claimed that housing developers are holding Lincolnshire councils 'to ransom' over how much they pay towards local facilities.

    When a housing development is approved by a local council, the developers often have to contribute to local facilities by building things such as roads and GP surgeries.

    Taylor Wimpey, which is building in Branston has applied to have it's contribution towards a new local play area reduced.

    Peter Lungdren, a parish and district councillor from Branston, says they're using a change in the local policy which allows developers to reduce their commitment to local community.

    The last remaining British Dambuster says it's an honour and a privilege to have a school named after him.

    The George Johnson Education Centre in Lincoln provides places for children who've been excluded or are struggling in mainstream education.

    Mr Johnson is a former teacher himself, he agreed to let the centre use his name as it's so closely associated with what he did in education.

    On 16 and 17 May 1943, a total of 133 Allied aircrew left for the raid aboard 19 Lancaster bombers, carrying Barnes Wallis's specially-adapted bouncing bombs - that looked like "glorified dustbins", according to Mr Johnson - led by Wing Commander Guy Gibson.

    Fifty-three men were killed and three were captured.

    MPs have been calling for misogyny to be treated as a hate crime across the country in a bid to tackle sexist abuse.

    It's a debate started by Grimsby MP Melanie Onn who wants a pilot scheme to be extended across the country.

    As Lincolnshire sees the final snow thaw, it seems more is on its way.

    Forecasters say there will be sleet and snow for upland areas and some lower ground.

    Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

    Temperatures tomorrow will be between two degrees and seven degrees celcius.

    There's been a fire at a derelict building in Grimsby used by homeless people, external.

    It happened at the former Farnhurst Resource Centre on Eleanor Street last Wednesday at around 16:00.

    A man's been arrested on suspicion of arson.

    Police say no one was hurt but people are known to sleep in the building. They're appealing for information.

  19. Windmill defibrillator appeal in memory of volunteerpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2018

    Staff at Lincolnshire's landmark Heckington Windmill are applying to install a defibrillator, external in the area in memory of a volunteer engineer who died in an accident there.

    Pete Lett (pictured) died at the community-run windmill last month while working on an engine to power mill stones.

    Heckington Windmill Trust says it wants raise £600 so a defibrillator can be located south of the nearby level crossing for those living around the mill.

    This is what an auction for theme park rides look like.

    There's a sense of excitement at the former Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes - even if it doesn't reach white knuckle:

    The park, which closed at the end of 2016 due to falling visitor numbers, was a fixture on the North East Lincolnshire coast for more than 20 years.

    Among the items going up for sale is a carousel ride dating back to 1904.
