    Last week's snow caused many issues across Lincolnshire, among which was the fact that bins weren't collected as the lorries couldn't get through.

    The 40-year-old is giving his first media conference at Blundell Park with the club director Phillip Day (pictured right) since his appointment as manager.

    He comes with a glowing reference from Burnley boss Sean Dyche who told the BBC at the weekend that it's a good opportunity for his former under-23 team boss.

    Dyche says the true measure of the man will be whether or not he can make an immediate impact at a club that's in freefall, just six points above the relegation slots with 10 games left to play.

    Anglian Water say they are dealing with an exceptionally high amount of calls this morning.

    They say the big thaw is leading to numerous inquiries about burst pipes.

    In Lincoln, Mint Street and Silver Street are closed off as engineers repair a burst pipe.

    One lane of the A1 is closed southbound following an accident involving two cars between the Rutland Water turn off and the Stretton / Greetham turn off.

    The MP for Boston and Skegness, Matt Warman, has praised the 'Herculean' efforts made by the emergency services in helping communities cut off during last week's heavy snow.

    Many volunteers also braved blizzard-like conditions to help.

    Mr Warman's constituency was one of the worst hit and he believes the agencies did their best in extraordinary conditions.

    Work's starting today to clear large sand drifts along the county's coastline today.

    The high winds of Storm Emma whipped sand off the beach on to the seafront in a number of areas.

    East Lindsey District Council is working with the Environment Agency to clear the sand, they're hoping to have the area back to normal before Easter.

  8. Electricity supply being restored to homespublished at 08:31 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2018

    Northern Powergrid says it's restored electricity supplies to almost 60,000 homes across Yorkshire, northern Lincolnshire and the north east over the last few days.

    But more than 130 properties, mainly in the Ryedale and Whitby area of North Yorkshire, are still without power.

    Rachel Harrison in the Scrayingham area of Ryedale says she's been without electricity for more than 28 hours.

    This follows the loss of power to 830 homes in Sherburn, between Malton and Scarborough, at the weekend.

    Northern Powergrid say they're aiming to get power back on by 11:00 this morning.

    The coastguard is warning people to be aware of any RAF dummy bombs washed up on beaches along the east coast.

    The warning is after one was found at Cleethorpes over the weekend.

    It had been swept in during the recent strong winds and high tides.

    Thousands of dead fish are floating along the River Witham in Lincolnshire in a suspected pollution incident.

    The Environment Agency is investigating after fish were spotted gasping for air in water between Kirkstead Bridge and Tattershall Bridge near Woodhall Spa yesterday.
