    More than 100 cats and dogs were taken away from the 4 Paws site in South Killingholme yesterday.

    Lincoln will be getting a new cinema after councillors gave the go-ahead to the plans.

    Everyman cinema

    The Everyman cinema will also feature a roof-top restaurant as part of the Sincil Street redevelopment.

    The independent boutique cinema is the next stage of the Lincolnshire Co-op's £70m regeneration of the Cornhill Quarter.

    The new building will be opposite the Corn Exchange building, facing onto Exchange Square.

    Restaurants and shops are also expected to move into the building which should open in Autumn 2019.

    Farmers in Lincolnshire could lose out on millions of pounds once Britain leaves the EU, the National Farmers' Union (NFU) is warning.

    The union is currently holding a consultation on plans put forward by environment department Defra on phasing out basic land payments worth up to a £150m a year.

    Environment and stewarding payments would remain.

    The NFU in Lincolnshire is urging farmers to get involved in the 10-week-consultation.

    Plans to remove a major roundabout near Grimsby and replace it with a junction have stalled again.

    The plans would see the Toll Bar roundabout on the A16 in New Waltham removed and replaced with traffic lights at a cost of £2.1m.

    The plans were approved by North East Lincolnshire Council in January, but will now go back to the council's cabinet after the petition calling for an underpass or overpass to be considered instead was voted through.

    A Lincoln para-athlete is flying to Australia today ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

    Mark Conway normally works in the finance department of the county council, but soon he'll be competing in the para-triathalon event on the Gold Coast.

    He's part of a ten-man team which includes the Brownlee brothers - although he hasn't met them yet!

    He says this is the biggest moment of his sporting career so far.

    A new free school for excluded children who would otherwise not receive suitable education will be built on the St Giles estate in Lincoln.

    Councillors on City of Lincoln Council's planning committee unanimously voted through Wellspring Academy Trust's school last night.

    It'll create 30 jobs for teachers and other members of staff and provide education for up to 63 children between the ages of five and 16.

    Police in Skegness are cracking down on people cycling on pavements.

    It's ahead of the busy Easter period in the town.

    The force says cycling in pedestrian areas will not be tolerated and is starting to hand out on-the-spot fines of £50.

    Inspector Colin Haigh says they're taking action after seeing several problems over the past two years.

    A local plan has been agreed in North East Lincolnshire, which could see 13,000 homes built over the next 14 years.

    The plan was agreed at a meeting of North East Lincolnshire Council last night.

    The authority claims it could create 9,000 jobs.

    Among the applications is a development for nearly 200 homes in Waltham, Grimsby.

    Lincoln Street Food Festival, external has returned, after the snow cancelled the event earlier this month.

    It's taking place along the Lincoln High Street and the Cornhill Quarter.

    It's on until 21:00 on Sunday.

    It will feature a Polish bar, live music and food from around the world.

    A Lincolnshire woman received an unexpected performance from former X-Factor runners-up G4 after an accident prevented her from seeing their show.

    Marjorie Everett, from Welton, had VIP tickets to see the pop opera group at Lincoln's New Theatre Royal earlier this week.

    However, she had a bad fall which left her lying on the pavement outside waiting for an ambulance.
