    Two people ejected from a Red Arrows jet which crashed this afternoon in Wales, according to eyewitnesses.

    It's believed the Hawk jet was flying from RAF Valley back to RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire when it crashed at about 13:30 this afternoon.

    The Ministry of Defence confirmed it was a Hawk aircraft and an emergency ambulance crew was sent to the scene at about 13:30.

    Based at RAF Scampton, the world-famous aerobatic team performs stunts and daredevil displays, and flies the distinctive Hawk fast-jets.

    The team have been working on their display for the 2018 season and are due to depart next month for their warm weather training in the Mediterranean.

    Two people are believed to have been on board an RAF Red Arrow Hawk jet which has crashed as it was flying back to RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire from a base in Wales.

    The Hawk, similar to the one pictured above, crashed at about 13:30 this afternoon at RAF Valley on Anglesey.

    The base is used to train UK fighter pilots and air crews for mountain and maritime operations.

    The Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed emergency crews were called at about 13:30 this afternoon to RAF Valley in Holyhead.

    An aircraft used by the Lincolnshire-based Red Arrows display team has crashed at the base on Anglesey.

    An ambulance and air ambulance are at the scene, the service says.

    A Red Arrow Hawk jet from the RAF Scampton-based Red Arrows team has crashed flying out from RAF Valley in Wales.

    One aircraft with two crew on board is involved, the Ministry of Defence says.

    There are no further details at present, according to the MoD.

    Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been given to pass on heritage skills in the county.

    The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded £585,600 to the Historic Environment Skills Project to fund 21 training bursaries in skills such as stonemasonry, lime plastering and slate roofing.

    The project aims to keep traditional skills alive and protect the historic environment for another generation.

    A new £600,000 CT (Computerised Tomography) scanner has been installed at Grimsby's Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

    The scanner is used to diagnose cancers, strokes, internal injuries and broken bones.

    This new machine will replace the one that was installed in 2009.

    Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust say they have also secured funding to install a new CT scanner at Scunthorpe Hospital.

    That one is expected to be in operation from early 2019.

    A clean-up operation will continue today to remove palm oil from parts of the Lincolnshire coast.

    The process began yesterday around Cleethorpes and will carry on today near Mablethorpe.

    North East Lincolnshire Council say it isn't dangerous to humans but can be toxic to dogs and are urging pet owners to be vigilant.

    It has been revealed Cineworld will run Grimsby's new cinema.

    It is part of a £20m plan to bring a 9-screen cinema and 7 new restaurants to the town.

    Freshney Place Shopping Centre managers have signed a deal with North East Lincolnshire Council for a new leisure development, securing Cineworld as the operator.

    The development will be an extension to Freshney Place in the town's Riverhead area which will be regenerated by the council.

    It's thought the plans will create around 350 jobs while it is being built and a further 130 long-term roles.

    The work is due to start in the next 6 months and will be finished towards the end of 2019.

    Nearly a billion pounds is needed to fix potholes on roads across Yorkshire and the Humber.

    That's according to a report out this morning from the Asphalt Industry Alliance.

    It says road users claimed £3m in compensation last year.

    Nearly 190,000 potholes were filled-in across Yorkshire and the Humber last year, with the report saying councils in the north have less money to spend on road repairs than elsewhere in England.

    The report also says it would take 14 years to get local roads across England and Wales back into a reasonable state.

    The Medical Director of the Linconshire LMC, which represents and supports GPs in the county, Dr Kieran Sharrock, has welcomed the announcement of a medical school in Lincolnshire.

    Dr Sharrock says they've been trying to get a medical school in Lincolnshire for many years:

    The new school is part of successful bids across the county to get an extra 1,000 medical undergraduates in England.

    The expansion of undergraduate medical training is part of a plan to increase the number of UK-trained doctors to ease staffing shortages in the NHS.
