    A body, believed to be that of a man, has been found on the edge of the tide area at Gedney Drove End near Spalding.

    Police made the discovery yesterday just after 1215.

    A coroner will carry out a post-mortem examination later.

    A new £1.6m endoscopy unit has officially opened in Scunthorpe.

    The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) said the new unit will improve patient care and attract new nurses.

    More than 4,500 people have already used the unit where diagnostic tests take place.

    Lincolnshire County Council is due to call on the NHS to be clearer about plans for the future of local health care at a meeting later.

    The council claims that despite years of time and effort going into working out a long-term strategy known as the Sustainability and Transformation Plan, nothing substantial has been revealed to the public.

    Lincolnshire County Council leader Martin Hill says if the plan isn't revealed then the problems will just get worse.

    "Without a direction of travel and a vision of how NHS services can be enhanced in Lincolnshire, it'll feed into the issue of recruitment and retention," he says.

    A group of bowlers plan to protest outside Gainsborough Guildhall later after the council took the decision to close their indoor bowls hall.

    The hall is set to be replaced with a health and well-being facility at West Lindsey Leisure Centre, with the district council claiming it will be used by more people.

    Three fire crews had to cut free the occupant of a car after a crash on the A1175 late last night in Market Deeping.

    Emergency crews were called just after 23:00.

    The victim has been taken to hospital and the road has now been reopened.
