    A new windfarm to be maintained and serviced from Grimsby will be officially opened today.

    It includes 91 turbines located off the North Norfolk coast and uses Siemens blades which are made in Hull.

    It's claimed that the windfarm, which is run by Danish power company Orsted, can produce enough electricity for half-a-million UK homes.

    Matthew Wright, managing director of Orsted, says the number of Grimsby jobs involved in maintaining the site will grow:

  2. Boston Pilgrim Hospital staff shortage latestpublished at 09:27 British Summer Time 13 June 2018

    Boston Pilgrim Hospital bosses are expected to give an update later on efforts to recruit more doctors.

    United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, which runs the hospital, had previously warned that children's services could be withdrawn at the site due to staffing shortages.

    The trust's chief executive is due to update councillors on the current situation at a meeting today.

    Meanwhile, anyone with an appointment at Cherry Willingham Surgery can be seen at Nettleham surgery instead, and they can get help with transport if necessary.

    Any medication can be picked up tomorrow, or from Nettleham if necessary, the surgery says.

    Staff there expect the surgery to be open again tomorrow.

    Anglian Water, external is working to fix the burst pipe and expects it to be done by 10:00.

    Anglian Water, external is working hard to get it fixed and says it should be done by 10:00.

    The company has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

    A man from Lincoln has been arrested as part of a police investigation into letters calling for a day of violence against Muslims in the UK.

    The letters, which proposed specific forms of attack, have been circulated online and received in communities across England.

    The man, who's 35, was arrested on suspicion of soliciting to murder by police investigating the so-called "Punish a Muslim Day" letters.

    He is also being held on suspicion of sending a hoax noxious substance and threatening letters.

    The man is in custody at a police station in West Yorkshire.

    The court heard he'd used two knives after getting into a "jealous rage".

    Det Ch Insp Jim Hodgson says Feeley left Gareth for dead in his own home.

    Feeley was told he must serve a minimum of 17 years in jail.

    Police say they're becoming increasingly worried for the safety of 44-year-old Garry Clephane, who has been missing since he left his home on Danes Close, Grimsby on 30 May 2018.

    They say they know Garry has visited London, Preston, Doncaster and more recently York, where he was last seen visiting the A&E department at the hospital on Monday morning at about 07:30.

    He's white, 5ft 10in, with light brown hair and of medium build.

    Garry does have some cash and a mobile phone but that’s now switched off, police said.

    Officers said he could be running out of money and might be sleeping rough.

    The breeders of fifteen King Charles Spaniels stolen from Lincolnshire, have asked people to sign a petition , externalcalling for harsher punishments for dog thieves.

    It follows a court case last week where two couples, who took the dogs from Middle Rasen in 2015, were given suspended prison sentences.

    Pet theft is currently seen as no different to the theft of an object.

    The petition wants pet theft to be a specific crime, carrying harsher sentences.

    It has already gained over 100,000 signatures, which means it will be debated by MPs.

    Figures from The Insurance Emporium, external show 56 dogs were stolen in Lincolnshire in 2015, but in the last year that figure had risen to 150.

    An animal rescue charity has appealed for help to find a missing dog.

    Arthur, a foxhound, has not been seen since Thursday at his home in Knipton and is believed to be in the Belvoir area.

    He was re-homed by the Loughborough-based Dogs Trust in January.

    Celine Di Crocco, from the charity, said: "He [Arthur] is a lovely, friendly boy and is likely to approach people.

    "We urge anyone who spots him to call immediately and not to approach him as he could be scared in unfamiliar surroundings."

    The robberies took place on 28 April 2018, but police have only just released the images.

    Both incidents happened on the same night.

    A Skegness man who murdered a father of three has been jailed for life.

    Gareth Bailey, 29, was found seriously injured at his home at Chapman Court, Ingoldmells, near Skegness on 6 December.

    Police said he died in hospital after being stabbed.

    Steven Feeley, aged 40, of Eudo Road, Skegness, was convicted following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court.

    Feeley was told he must serve a minimum of seventeen years in jail.

    Lincolnshire Police said it wanted the case to act as a warning to others about the dangers of knives - and the utter devastation they can cause.

    Mr Bailey's family say no sentence will ever reflect the loss that they have suffered by this needless and tragic death.

    They're actually an installation called Now It Is Permitted, by artist Bridget Smith, as part of the Mansions of the Future, external project.

    She gathered statements from invited artists, writers, musicians and filmmakers to display on billboards.

    These slogans aim to "offer ways of thinking about how to live in our uncertain times".
