Free ports allow goods to be imported without incurring tariffs.

According to consultancy and construction company MACE, integrating Free Ports with Northern enterprise zones would create almost 80,000 high value jobs across Yorkshire and the Humber, while adding £4.7bn a year to the region's economy.

Proposals to create a series of free ports across the north of England are gaining momentum within the government and are seen by some as a way of minimising any impact from Brexit.

Simon Bird, from ABP Humber at Immingham, says it has something they've been long campaigning for.
