Conservative MP for Gainsborough, Sir Edward Leigh, has suggested the idea.

The MP says an outdoor swimming pool, which is kept clean by plants and running natural water, would put the town on the map.

    Jonathan Noble, Conservative councillor

Councillor Anton Dani, of the Bostonian Independents Group, however, said he felt it was a "really great idea"'.
