    A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found at a property in Cleethorpes.

    Humberside Police were called to a property on Sidney Street at about 18:45 yesterday evening.

    Officers believe it was a targeted attack, but said there's no threat to the wider community.

    Extra police officers will be in the area to offer reassurance to people living nearby, the force added.

    A road close to the Lincolnshire coast has been closed due to a burst water main.

    There are problems in Beesby Road, Maltby-Le-Marsh, near Louth, with the A1104 closed in both directions.

    The road has been closed since 17.00 yesterday and is expected to be shut for the rest of today at least.

    North Lincolnshire Council is being accused of letting down the people of Scunthorpe by failing to tackle anti-social behaviour and littering.

    Local businessman Des Comerford says he took the pictures above over the course of a month.

    He posted them on Facebook and launched a scathing attack on the council.

    North Lincolnshire Council says it cleans the town centre twice a day, seven days a week, and are currently investing £60 million on regenerating the area.

    British Steel has announced the biggest single investment in its manufacturing operations for a decade.

    The firm has secured a £50 million investment to upgrade its Scunthorpe Rod Mill, which it says will support the business for years to come.

    Work is expected to start this summer and completed in late 2019.

    The firm says the investment will allow them to become a more competitive exporter and help the company grow.

    It comes as British Steel has announced that's its profits have risen.

    It made £21 million in the first quarter of this year.

    Sheffield's football star Harry Maguire brought a little World Cup magic to Gainsborough Trinity FC's pre-season friendly against Chesterfield.

    He was at the Northolme to see his brothers Laurence and Joe go head-to-head for the opposing sides.

    Maguire, who scored for England in their 2-0 win over Sweden, signed autographs for fans.

    He tweeted later to say what a "great night" he had.

    More than 900 people turned out to watch the game.

    Long queues formed at half-time as people waited to have their photo taken with one of the heroes of England's World Cup campaign.

    A rare statue found covered in weeds at the bottom of a Lincolnshire garden is up for auction today.

    The Lily Maid, made by renowned sculptor Gilbert Bayes, was sold in 1927 and hasn't been moved since.

    Auctioneers say it could sell for £3,000-£5,000, but they wouldn't be surprised if it went for much more.

    Five days of motorcycle-themed events on the Lincolnshire coast are going ahead this week, despite support being pulled by local authorities.

    Coastal Events, external' concert in Trusthrope was cancelled last week because the East Lindsey Event Safety Advisory Group said the organisers hadn't addressed their safety concerns.

    Tickets for the gig, as part of the wider Lincolnshire Bike Week, external, will be refunded.

    The rest of the weeks events are happening - including bike nights, a beach hut festival, a vintage village at Poplar Farm and a firework display in Trusthorpe.

    A Seat Ibiza collided with a red Honda CBF 125 motorbike before allegedly driving off.

    The rider of the bike sustained a broken leg and was taken to hospital for surgery.

    A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an alleged assault and robbery in Grimsby.

    The incident happened on Cromwell Avenue in Grimsby on 24 June 2018 at around 19:45.

    A 22-year-old man reported that he was assaulted by up to five people and robbed of his mobile phone.

    26-year-old Jonathan of West, of Redbourne Road in Grimsby, has been arrested and charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

    Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

    A 13-year-old girl was covered in red welts after a jellyfish wrapped itself around her off the Lincolnshire coast.

    Verity Stainton was swimming with friends in Mablethorpe when the creature wrapped its tendrils around her arms, back and legs.

    She was in the water near the lifeguard station when the attack happened on Sunday afternoon.

    Her mother, Christina Stainton, said the pain was so bad she was unable to wear clothes for two days.

    "She was in the water and she felt an electric shock sting sensation around her legs, and she ran to the shore screaming," Mrs Stainton said.

    The lifeguard helped her and she was able to go home, where she is now said to be recovering.
