We've also heard that lettuce, cabbages and other veg struggled in cold temperatures in the Spring.
Now, Boston farmer Tim Casey, chairman of the Leek Growers Association, says we're likely to see 20% fewer leeks this year:

John Hayes, Conservative MP for South Holland and The Deepings, said measures must be put in place so drivers can find places to plug in.
He asked the Secretary of State whether there would be on-street charging facilities for electric cars.
The Secretary of State answered that lamppost charging points and other ideas are in the pipeline.
Quote MessageTo make the future electric we need a charging infrastructure sufficient to build confidence in those who, unlike the liberal bourgeoisie, do not have space to charge at home."

UTCs specialise in subjects like science, technology, engineering and mathematics and only teach students from 14-years-old upwards.
A new report from The Education Policy Institute says UTC students make poor progress across the board and more than half drop out after two years.
But John Morrison, Principal of Lincoln UTC, says the city's college isn't performing badly, unlike others around the country:
Quote MessageThe generalisations that have been made don't apply to a number of the UTCs - and certainly they don't apply to Lincoln UTC. There have been some UTCs that have struggled, but Lincoln isn't one of them."
John Morrison, Principal of Lincoln UTC
