Work starts on new city centre footbridgepublished at 11:03 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2018
Work is due to begin today on a new footbridge over the railway in Lincoln.
Plans were first put forward five years ago for the bridge on Brayford Wharf - and were initially turned down by councillors.
The design has come in for some criticism as Network Rail says there are no plans to include a lift.
Brayford Wharf East Road will now be closed to traffic until the beginning of May.
