PC Jamie Tyler-Jones, 42, drove a Ford Mondeo, in Aylesby, North East Lincolnshire, while over the drink-drive limit.

He also had a lock knife on him.

The Humberside Police officer entered a guilty plea when he appeared at Grimsby Magistrates' Court.

He was banned from driving for 20 month and ordered to pay fines and costs of almost £500.

The knife was forfeited and destroyed.

The trust that runs Lincolnshire's hospitals says it will give free parking to anyone who faced problems with a new system this week.

New number plate recognition cameras and pay and display machines were introduced at hospitals in Lincoln, Grantham and Boston this week.

Technical problems meant the systems "weren't talking to each other," resulting in major delays for patients and visitors.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust said the problems are now sorted.

It said people wouldn't be fined for parking without making a payment when the machines weren't working.

Plans to build three high-rise apartment blocks in Cleethorpes have been described as "totally out of character" and would have a "massive negative impact".

London-based Cielo Realty Ltd want to build the One Cleethorpes development on Grant Street in the town.

Each block would be up to 13 storeys high and include commercial space and parking.

But local residents say the plans are not in keeping with the town's heritage.

The developer says it's "acutely" aware that the development would be in a sensitive area.

Planners at North East Lincolnshire Council will discuss the proposals on Wednesday 5 December.
