    Councillors in Boston are calling for more information as they consider an application for an "Alternative Energy" facility at the River Haven.

    The borough council's cabinet say the project would provide employment benefits but added that a consultation process would need to consider the enivronmental impact and issues such as hazardous waste.

    The project is being classed as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, which means it will go before the Secretary of State for a decision.

    Phil Bradshaw, and his 11-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier Lucky, set off on foot from Southampton in July.

    He says they're now accepting some lifts to save his dog's paws.

    They're raising money for the charity StreetVet.

    A cat charity is warning owners in Boston to keep their feline friends indoors while an 8ft 6ins (2.6m) boa constrictor remains on the loose.

    Lincoln Cat Care issued the plea after the reptile slithered off from a house in Union Street on Wednesday.

    Boa constrictors attack their prey with their fangs and squeeze it to death, police said.

    The force said the snake was likely to have sought shelter somewhere warm, and so might have taken refuge in a garden shed.

    An oil firm says it will appeal a decision to stop it from drilling close to a village in North Lincolnshire.

    Planners at North Lincolnshire Council have rejected Egdon Resources application to continue drilling at Lodge Farm near Wressle.

    An earlier application was thrown out in August following concerns over water contamination.

    But Egdon Resources say the revised plans for the site "comprehensively addressed" previous concerns.

    Lincolnshire Police have issued further advice as the hunt for a Boa Constrictor continues in the Boston area.

    The 8ft 6in (2.6m) reptile slithered away from its owner's house and went missing on Wednesday.

    People living in the Union Street area are being asked to keep an eye out for it and have also been warned to keep vents, doors and windows shut until it's found:

    A £10m scheme to regenerate Cleethorpes is a step closer after a number of changes to the town centre were approved.

    North East Lincolnshire Council's cabinet approved the changes, which will include new one-way arrangements along Albert Road, Osborne Street and Cross Street, and changes to parking, bus stops, taxi ranks and loading bays in the area.

    Council leader Ray Oxby says the changes would help to bring a longer tourism season to the resort.

    The search continues in Lincolnshire today to try and find the winner of an unclaimed Euromillions jackpot worth £76m.

    The only detail known about the winner is that the ticket was bought in the Boston and Skegness area.

    The winning numbers from the draw were 5, 15, 17, 37, 44 and the Lucky Star numbers were 7 and 11.

    If the ticketholder does not come forward by 1 May, the prize will be the UK's biggest unclaimed jackpot.

    Advertising vans are out in the county today in a bid to find the lucky ticketholder.

    A sheltered accommodation block in Lincoln could be demolished to create a new 70-apartment extra care facility.

    The City of Lincoln Council could demolish De Wint Court on Bowden Drive to make way for the new development.

    It would allow older people to remain self-sufficient and still have access to on-site care.

    The new apartments would be aimed at over-55s and, according to the plans, would "bridge the gap" between sheltered housing and residential care.

    The BBC has revealed Lincoln will be hosting another Christmas premiere with a showing of hit comedy Mrs Brown's Boys.

    A domestic homicide review into the killings of a mum and daughter in Spalding two years ago has found there were no specific failings which led to the murders and that it was a 'tragedy that nobody could foresee'.

    Charlotte Hart was shot by her father Lance and he also killed her mother Claire outside the town's leisure centre.

    A number of family members had been to see health professionals and alluded to problems at home.

    It later emerged that the family had been subjected to years of mental abuse and had been trying to escape.

    Claire's sons, Luke and Ryan, have previously spoken about the incident to raise awareness of domestic violence and controlling behaviour.

    People living and working in Lincoln and Stamford are set to see a boost in their internet speeds.

    Openreach, which provides the network for firms like BT and Sky, say its going to be upgrading it's fibre system and will be bringing improved speeds of up to 330Mbps.

    It's thought 45,000 properties will benefit, but the timescale for the rollout has not been confirmed.

    Earlier this year, the government said it wanted the UK to have full-fibre coverage by 2033.

    An escaped boa constrictor has sparked a police alert after it slithered out of a house.

    People have been warned not to approach the missing snake (which is similar to the one pictured above) which has a white tail and grey, black and brown spots.

    It is not venomous but boa constrictors attack prey with their teeth and constrict it until they die, police said.

    The snake was reported missing from a house in Boston, Lincolnshire on Wednesday night.

    Lincolnshire Police said the snake was likely to seek shelter somewhere warm, so could possibly have taken refuge in a garden shed.

    Anyone who sees what they believe to be a snake should call the force on 999.

    Lincolnshire Police are trying to find the owners of some Christmas presents found in the possession of a suspected burglar.

    The 45-year old was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary and the burglary of a dwelling following an incident in Harrowby Road in Grantham.

    Officers have seized a number of presents, addressed to someone called Mya, and are now hoping to find out who it is so they can be delivered in time for the festive period.

    The recruitment process has not yet begun to replace Lincolnshire County Council's chief executive after his departure was announced earlier this week.

    The authority says Keith Ireland is leaving because he and the council leader Martin Hill do not share the same approach, but admitted the position had not yet been advertised.

    Mr Ireland had only been in post for four months.

    The council says it can't discuss any financial settlement he has received and that the process to replace him has "not yet started."
