    Lincolnshire Police say the body of a 49-year old man has been found at a house in Spalding.

    Officers say they were called to a property in Neville Avenue just before midday yesterday.

    A 59-year-old man from the Spalding area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

    Tributes have been paid to footballer Kevin Austin who's died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 45.

    Austin played more than a hundred games for Lincoln City and also represented Trinidad and Tobago at international level during his career.

    The left-sided defender went on to play for Boston United, Swansea City and also worked as a youth coach at Scunthorpe United.

    Six specialist dementia nurses are being recruited in Lincolnshire.

    They'll offer families one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions.

    St Barnabas Hospice has teamed up with charity Dementia UK and the county council to fund the roles.

    The new service is due to be launched in Spring 2019.

    A rapist serving a life sentence has absconded from an open prison in Lincolnshire.

    Police have warned people not to approach Wayne Jones, who is an inmate at HMP North Sea Camp near Boston in Lincolnshire.

    The 39-year-old absconded from the Category D open prison on Sunday evening.

    Lincolnshire Police described Jones as 5ft 7in tall and said he had a scar under his left eye and a tattoo on his left wrist.

    The force said Jones was "of small build, with brown hair and brown eyes".

    "We are warning the public not to approach a man who has absconded from prison," a spokesperson added.
