    A Lincoln man who suffered a brain injury after falling 20ft down a stairwell has won a national award for helping others in need.

    Andy Nicholson was left partially blind and with severe coordination issues after the incident.

    Under the moniker of the "Brain Damaged Baron" he built an online community to talk about his disability.

    In July, he was joined by friends and supporters around the world in a sponsored walk to raise awareness.

    Today, he's been presented with the Alex Richardson Achiever of the Year Award from charity Headway.

    Edith Smith, who died in 1923, walked the beat in Grantham but was buried in Runcorn in Cheshire.

    Thanks to fundraising efforts from three police forces, including Lincolnshire's, her once unmarked grave is now looking pretty splendid:

    Usually you can find the odd pound coin or maybe your house keys hidden in your sofa, but Humberside Police have instead found a wanted man.

    Officers visited an address on Newborn Avenue in Scunthorpe on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation.

    After an "extensive" search they managed to find the man hiding in a settee.

    He's been arrested in connection with a breach of bail.

    It's rapidly approaching that time of year when we're all suddenly VERY interested in turkeys.

    It seems it's important to keep turkeys entertained and stimulated to keep up their health and welfare.

    So one Lincolnshire farmer has decided to do that with the help of musical instruments.

    We sent a reporter down to Totally Turkeys at West Ashby, near Horncastle, with a couple of toy xylophones to see what the birds made of them.

    Officers from three police forces, including Lincolnshire's, are coming together today to celebrate the life of the country's first warranted police woman.

    Edith Smith, who walked the beat in Grantham, died in 1923 but recently it emerged that she was buried in an unmarked grave in Runcorn, Cheshire.

    Edith, who was born in Birkenhead, was given the power of arrest after being posted to Grantham to assist with "drunkenness, the widespread use of cocaine, prostitution and the consequent spread of venereal disease, external".

    Officers and staff have raised £2,500 for a new headstone for her grave and a service is being held at St Mary's Church in Runcorn, attended by her granddaughter who's now in her 80s.

    A supersonic car, the nosecap of which was built in Lincolnshire, has been scrapped.

    Bloodhound failed to secure a £25m investment needed to sustain the project.

    It was hoped it would reach speeds of 1,000mph at an 18km track in South Africa.

    Sleaford-based manufacturers SHD Composites constructed the nose cone attached to the front of the car.

    Three reports of people impersonating officers were received in the space of an hour by Lincolnshire Police yesterday.

    In one case, a "vulnerable" victim from Grantham withdrew thousands of pounds which, luckily, was not handed over to the scammer.

    Lincolnshire Police have reminded people to stay vigilant.
