    About 200 dead chickens have been dumped on a street in Grimsby.

    You can see the nature of the mess, on Second Avenue, in a somewhat graphic image below.

    North East Lincolnshire Council street team workers have the misfortune of cleaning up the aftermath.

    The authority describes it as a "stinking, disgusting mess".

    An investigation's been launched into where the dead birds came from, the council adds.

    About 130 mobile fingerprint scanners are being issued to officers in Lincolnshire.

    The force says the technology will save time and provide better value to the taxpayer.

    It'll allow officers to check the identity of those they believe have committed a crime and are providing incorrect personal details.

    Previously, officers would have to take people back to the nearest local police station to use fingerprint technology.

    It's cost £29,000 to introduce, but the force believes it will lead to a saving of about £1.8m.

    Police have named the 16-year-old girl who died after being hit by a lorry in Osbournby on Monday.

    Eliza Bill, from Threekingham, died after the collision on London Road at about 16:40.

    In a statement, her family say she was "the most beautiful soul".

    It's still not known whether a body pulled from the sea in Tenerife is that of a missing Cleethorpes woman.

    Former University of Lincoln student 28-year-old Amy Gerard was last seen more than five days ago outside an Irish pub on the island.

    Yesterday, a BBC reporter saw the local coastguard recover a body with the help of a rescue boat and a helicopter.

    Ms Gerard's mother and sister are on the island after flying out from Sheffield earlier this week to join in the search to try and find her.

    Anglian Water has been named the best workplace in the UK.

    The company has its main call centre in Lincoln.

    Glassdoor , external- which ranks companies each year based on staff reviews - said Anglian Water stood out because of the way it cared for employees' health and well-being.

    Two closure-threatened libraries in Lincoln have been saved after a new company was found to run them.

    The Birchwood and Boultham libraries had been temporarily run by the council's provider, Greenwich Leisure Limited, after the previous provider stopped trading earlier this year.

    They will both reopen later this week.

    People campaigning to save the concrete Colonnade and beach huts in Sutton on Sea in Lincolnshire will hand a petition into the local council later.

    More than 2,000 people have signed the petition.

    The council say the structures on the sea front are unsafe and should be taken down.

    A Humberside police officer who admitted drink-driving and carrying a knife has been sacked.

    PC Jamie Tyler-Jones, 42, was found guilty of gross misconduct at a disciplinary hearing in Goole, East Yorkshire.

    Chief Constable Lee Freeman said his actions had "undermined public confidence in the police".

    Tyler-Jones, from Grimsby, was almost three times over the drink-drive limit when he was stopped near Aylesby, North East Lincolnshire, in October 2017.

    He pleaded guilty to drink driving and possessing a bladed article, a lock knife, at a hearing at Grimsby Magistrates' Court on 13 September.

    He was fined £300 and banned from driving for 20 months.

    Humberside Police said he was off-duty at the time of the offence but was removed from operational duty throughout the investigation into his conduct.

    But Mr Freeman said the officer's actions deserved dismissal without notice to "ensure the public has confidence in our integrity".

    A Humberside Police officer convicted of drink-driving and carrying a knife has been dismissed from the force.

    He pleaded guilty to drink-driving and possessing a bladed article at a hearing at Grimsby Magistrates Court on 13 September and was fined £300 and banned from driving for 20 months.

    PC Tyler-Jones did not attend a disciplinary hearing in Goole where he was found guilty of gross misconduct.

    In mitigation, Pete Musgrave, from the Police Federation, said PC Tyler-Jones, who had served as a constable for 13 years, believed he "still could be an asset to the force".

    But Ch Con Lee Freeman said his actions had “undermined public confidence in the police" and he deserved dismissal without notice to "ensure the public has confidence in our integrity".

    The speed limit on two roads in Manthorpe could be cut.

    The limit on the High Road and the Low Road is currently 40mph, but there've been calls to drop it to 30mph.

    Lincolnshire County Council's planning and regulation committee has now agreed to look at changing the speed limit.

    One lane of Melville street is shut in Lincoln because of a crash at Newton Street.

    The incident is on the tidal flow heading out of the city on Pelham Bridge.

    Police have shut a road near the William Robertson school in Welbourn after a serious collision.

    A section of the A607 between Navenby and Leadenham has been closed while emergency services deal with the incident.

    Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.

    The owner of an animal rescue centre in Lincolnshire who's facing a noise complaint says she can't see a way to solve the problem.

    East Lindsey District Council has issued a noise abatement order to The Ark in North Somercotes, which has been operating for about 30 years, because of barking dogs.

    Police searching for a Cleethorpes woman who's gone missing while in the Spanish resort of Tenerife have found a body, it's been confirmed.

    Amy Gerard, 28, was last seen outside an Irish bar in Puerto de la Cruz in the early hours of Friday.

    A BBC reporter said he saw the local coastguard recover a body from the sea a few hours ago, something which the police in Spain have since confirmed.

    The identity of the body remains unknown.

    Earlier, Ms Gerard's mother and sister, who live in Sheffield, flew out to the island to help try and find her.
