    An 18-year-old who was hit by a car on the road outside a school in Welbourne has died.

    Millie Taylor-Noonan, from Sudbrooke, who was a student at the Sir William Robertson Academy, was hit by a black Mercedes at about 15:30 on Tuesday.

    She was airlifted to the Queen's Medical Centre at Nottingham, but later died of her injuries.

    A former University of Lincoln student who's gone missing while travelling in New Zealand was last seen with "a male companion", according to local police.

    Grace Millane, 22, from Essex, disappeared six days ago - a day before her birthday.

    Detectives in Auckland say they have spoken to the man and have identified an apartment at the Citylife Hotel as a location of interest.

    They've also said they "hold grave fears for her safety" and have released this CCTV image of Grace, captured before she vanished:

    Paul Nuttall, who unsuccessfully ran for Parliament in the Boston and Skegness constituency, has announced he's leaving UKIP.

    He's taken issue with the party's decision to appoint Tommy Robinson as an adviser.

    Mr Nuttall said he was leaving because the party was being taken in a direction "harmful to Brexit".

    The association with the former English Defence League leader would "appall many moderate Brexit voters", he said.

    Mr Nuttall was the leader of the party when he stood in Lincolnshire in the general election last year.

    He suffered a crushing defeat, taking only 3,308 votes - about 10,000 fewer than the party's result in the constituency in 2015.

    You might not have known this but the first ever Christingle service in the UK was held at Lincoln Cathedral.

    It took place 50 years ago and a special service is being held to mark the anniversary at 17:30 this afternoon.

    More payment machines are to be introduced to hospital car parks in Lincoln and Boston as parking woes continue.

    Long queues have been forming as people struggle to work the new touch-screen pay points.

    Some have told BBC Radio Lincolnshire they've waited up to an hour to pay at peak times.

    Facilities manager at the hospital trust, Ian Hayden, says they're working to ease congestion.

    Lincolnshire farmers are supporting the NFU in calling on the government to help them avoid another disastrous summer.

    The heat and lack of rain this summer caused poor yields and bad quality produce for farmers across the county.

    They want ministers to make irrigating fields easier, help with building farm reservoirs, and investment in long-term solutions to changes in weather conditions.

    A new public square is to be created in Lincoln's Cornhill.

    The Local Democracy Reporting Service say the City of Lincoln Council approved plans submitted by Lincolnshire Co-op.

    The plans would see the area resurfaced and fitted with new seating and lighting.

    The move comes as part of a £70 million regeneration of the Cornhill Quarter, which is expected to see a new cinema and shops built.

    Organisers of Lincoln Christmas Market are warning people to bring money with them or withdraw it elsewhere in the city because of a lack of cash machines.

    The recent closure of Lloyds in Bailgate saw the removal of two ATMs, leaving just one at the Post Office nearby.

    City of Lincoln Council says a temporary machine is in place at the rear of the Castle, and that many traders now take card payments.

    The council says it expects the queues to get money to get worse as the market gets busier.

    East Lindsey District Council should be looked at favourably for the way it handled a data breach last month, according to the authority's newly-appointed boss.

    The BBC discovered last month that confidential documents revealing salaries and contact information of candidates who'd applied for the job of chief executive had been published online.

    The Information Commissioner's Office is investigating the data breach.

    Rob Barlow, who's taken up the position of chief executive with immediate effect, says: "I'd expect the council's attempt to recover that position and be quite honest and upfront about it will be seen as good practice to something that should never have happened."

    Investigations are continuing into two crashes in as many days in Lincolnshire, one of which led to the death of a teenage girl.

    Eliza Bill, who was just 16, died when she was hit by a lorry in Osbournby, near Sleaford, on Monday afternoon. A 14-year-old girl was also injured in the incident.

    Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening, an 18-year-old student was left with serious injuries after she was hit by a car outside William Robertson School in Welbourn, near Lincoln.

    A body has been found in a stretch of canal near a rural pub in Lincolnshire, police say.

    A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said the man's body was found on Wednesday close to the Dirty Duck pub in the Grantham Canal at Woolsthorpe.

    Police said they were currently treating the death as unexplained.

    A post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death is due to take place.
