    Villagers say they're shocked after a teenager was hit and killed by a lorry in Osbournby yesterday afternoon.

    The incident happened on the A15 London Road just after 16:30 and involved a Scania HGV.

    Parish council chairman Ray Pearson says Osbournby's been rocked by the news:

    Police have said that a 14-year-old was also hurt in the collision, but her injuries are not thought to be serious.

    A public inquiry into the Grantham Southern Relief Road's been delayed because of an administrative error.

    It was due to start today following objections from four public bodies, including Network Rail.

    However, the government's planning inspector Martin Whitehead said it couldn't go ahead because there had been no notice of the inquiry along the route beforehand.

    No new date has been officially set for the opening of the proceedings.

    The families of service personnel from RAF Coningsby are making their way down to Kensington Palace for a very special event.

    They're attending a party being hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, as their loved ones get set to be deployed overseas for Christmas.

    A complaint has been made about dogs barking at The Ark in North Somercotes, which has been in operation for about 30 years.

    East Lindsey District Council has served the notice and Jon Challen from the authority says it will try to support the charity:

    A 16-year-old girl has died after being hit by a lorry near Sleaford.

    It happened just after 16:30 yesterday afternoon in Osbournby on the A15 London Road

    Police are asking for anyone who saw the Scania lorry involved prior to the collision to contact them.

    The A16 near Louth has been closed because of an overturned lorry near Burwell.

    The road will be shut for the next three hours while the vehicle is recovered.

    One person had to be cut free from the lorry and was treated by ambulance crews.

    Community groups in Lincolnshire are celebrating after they were awarded more than £1m in National Lottery funding.

    The cash, which is raised by players for good causes, is handed out by the Big Lottery Fund.

    The Linkage Trust in East Lindsey is the biggest winner in the county.

    It's been awarded £402,365 to provide a mobile sensory bus to help people with learning disabilities.

    Development Plus in Lincoln is also receiving funds for the charity's work with people experiencing mental health issues.

    Jubilee Church Life Centre will also get cash to provide an after-school music scheme in the Grantham and Stamford area.

    A woman has flown out to Tenerife to help with the police search for her sister.

    Amy Louise Gerard, 28, originally from Cleethorpes, was last seen outside Irish bar Molly Malone's in Puerto de la Cruz in the early hours of Friday morning.

    Ms Gerard works at Tenerife's Loro Parque marine theme park.

    Her sister Chloe, from Sheffield, and her mum have flown out to help, but say so far they've had no updates from police.

    The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has confirmed it's assisting the family of a British woman in Tenerife.

    Lincolnshire Police are asking for anyone who has seen Gary Muckleton or has information about his whereabouts to get in touch after he went missing from Sibsey yesterday afternoon.

    Officers say they're extremely concerned for the 52-year-old who is described as of medium build and 5ft 10ins tall.

    It's thought he could be in his white Peugeot Expert van which has a registration number YR05 NXG.

    At least 7,000 patients in Mablethorpe are to lose their dentist following an announcement that the town's only NHS practice is to close in two months.

    But local residents say they're going to fight the decision.

    Amy Gerard, 28, studies Animal Behaviour Science at the University of Lincoln, and has been working with killer whales at Loro Parque on the island of Tenerife.

    But Amy, who is originally from Cleethorpes, disappeared after she was last seen outside an Irish pub in Puerto de la Cruz in the early hours of Friday.

    Spanish police have released a missing persons poster appealing for help in finding her.

    The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has confirmed it's assisting the family of a British woman in Tenerife.

    A Lincolnshire man who assaulted a woman will not face jail after telling a judge he thought it was sexual "role play".

    Dean Wilkins, 36, admitted slapping the woman's face but said that after meeting on an internet dating site two months earlier they often engaged in rough sex.

    Following a night out when the pair both consumed alcohol and cocaine, the woman was seen running from Wilkins' flat in Venables Way, Lincoln, wearing only a bra and with injuries including a bloodied nose and red marks around her neck.

    Before giving his ruling at Lincoln Crown Court, Judge Andrew Easteal said there were inconsistencies in both accounts and that the truth was hard to ascertain.

    On Friday, Wilkins admitted a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm to the woman on 28 May.

    Wilkins will be sentenced on 20 December.
