    A Lincolnshire police officer, who was seriously injured in a cycling accident, is training for a charity trek across the Sahara Desert.

    Spalding officer PC Sarah Draper broke her shoulder after falling from her bike in Derbyshire in 2011.

    She was flown to hospital by the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and has decided to raise money for the charity.

    PC Draper said: "Any one of us could require the help of the air ambulance at any time and, in a rural county like Lincolnshire, the helicopter could mean the difference between life and death."

    The five-day trek starts in September.

    Twitter user Sam, who's 25 and from Lincoln, posted "not going to lie but finding chicken in my veggie wrap was quite surprising."

    The fast-food chain launched their spicy veggie wrap earlier this year.

    Its main ingredient is meant to be a red pesto vegetarian goujon, but customers have been given chicken nuggets instead.

    McDonald's says: " We never want to disappoint customers, and any inaccuracy is not good enough."

    A Lincolnshire woman who caused the death of a motorcylist has told a court that she's "devastated" by what happened.

    Donna Wilkinson, who's 41 and from Grasby near Caistor, has been given a suspended jail sentence after admitting causing death by careless driving last March.

    Lincoln Crown Court heard how Wilkinson had been resting her mobile phone on her knees and using earphones during a brief conversation with her son.

    As she approached a crossroads she paused the call to negotiate the junction. The 41 year old collided with a motorcyclist, 58 year old Paul White from Scotter, who died at the scene.

    His brother Nigel described him as "a modest and much loved man." He added that "he'd lost part of his world which couldn't be replaced."

    A Lincolnshire animal rescue centre is caring for two exotic new visitors.

    Staff at the Ark Wildlife Park in Stickney, near Boston, offered to take the white fox and serval after they were confiscated by authorities in Belgium after being kept illegally.

    The serval, an African wildcat, is often nicknamed the "giraffe cat" because of its long legs.

    The fox was being passed off as a dog by its owners.

    Both animals are currently in the centre's quarantine area.

    Last week, staff also took in a silver fox who they've named Dexter.

    Teddy Wilson, from Holbeach, already races in the US Formula 4 Championship, but to continue to the next level he needs new funding.

    The season starts in April, leaving the teenager with little time to raise the £10,000 he needs.

    Sedgebrook Parish Council has joined a scheme run by Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership which trains volunteers to use the devices.

    If anyone is recorded speeding three times, their information is passed on to the police.

    The remains of a Lincolnshire explorer have been identified by archaeologists working on the HS2 project in a London burial ground.

    Captain Matthew Flinders led the first circumnavigation of Australia and is credited with naming the country.

    Some 61,000 skeletons will be removed from St James's Gardens, where the station for the HS2 rail route will be built near London Euston station.

    A recently discovered coffin showed the captain was buried on 23 July 1814.

    The dig began in October - one of 60 archaeological sites between London and Birmingham being explored prior to the construction of the £55bn high-speed rail line.

    It was known Captain Flinders was among the thousands of people buried at the site, which was built over when Euston station was expanded in the 19th Century but it was unclear whether his body or others would be able to be identified.

    A man from the West Country who's walking around the coasts of England, Scotland and Wales is in Lincolnshire for the next few days.

    Chris McQuillan and his dog Moose, external are covering 7,500 miles to raise money for three charities.

    They're supporting the Thistle foundation, which helps people affected by ill health or disability; Shelter, the homeless charity, and Bras not bombs, a group which collects and distributes underwear for women in refugee camps.

    They started at Portishead, in North Somerset, on 29 June last year, walking anticlockwise around the coast.

    Overnight, they stayed in a tent at a campsite in Wainfleet.
