'Unfortunate' that speed camera was out of actionpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 30 August 2016

More than 50 motorists a month were caught by a speed camera in Great Yarmouth since it was installed in December, but none since June after the device was put out of action following road resurfacing work.
Sensor strips on Caister Road trigger the Truvelo camera to take a picture when wheels go over over them too quickly, but they'd been covered up when the road was relaid.
Anne Pointon, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Camera Partnership, external said it was unfortunate: "Norfolk County Council tend to tell us in advance of resurfacing work... but on this occasional it didn't happen."

She tells me that it wouldn't have had a huge impact as "the majority of motorists didn't know it was out of action", adding that they will tell the public if a camera is going to be down for sometime.
The strips were put back into the road last week, and the camera is now back and operational.
