    A Leicestershire woman with Lyme disease has been telling BBC Radio Leicester how the condition lay undiscovered for two decades.

    Angela Bean, from Lutterworth, was finally diagnosed with the illness in 2016 following years of mystery symptoms.

    The disease can mimic numerous other physical and psychological problems, making it notoriously difficult for doctors to correctly identify.

    She told BBC Radio Leicester: "My symptoms were initially diagnosed as MS but this was eventually ruled out and I was told it was all anxiety.

    "I was offered testing with the UK Lyme Aid charity in 2016 and it came back positive. When I got my diagnosis I was pleased I'd got an answer for what had been puzzling me and medics for a long time.

    Now she's having to live with numerous eye, muscle and joint problems as a result of the delay in diagnosis.

    "The hardest part I've found is the fear you have of what's going to happen next," she said.

    A woman has admitted supplying a killer with cash and a mobile phone while he was evading capture by the police after stabbing a teenager at a boxing event.

    Melisa Birkinshaw helped Tyrone Andrew who fatally stabbed 19-year-old Reagan Astbury during an event in Walsall Town Hall.

    Andrew, 22, of St Helen's Street, Derby, fled to Amsterdam and Spain after incident but in August last year was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 14 years.

    At Birmingham Crown Court today 22-year-old Birkinshaw of Cavendish Court, Derby, admitted doing acts intending to pervert the course of justice by permitting her bank account to receive cash intended for Andrew, and giving money and a phone to him in Holland.

    East Midlands Trains have no estimate for when the line will be reopened.

    Police have been given more time to question a man who was arrested yesterday following a city centre stabbing.

    The victim suffered serious injuries in Goldsmith Street, Nottingham, just before 03:30.

    He remains in hospital in a serious but not life-threatening condition, police said.

    The police, ambulance and fire services were called at 12:50 today near the Markeaton Island.

    Leicester City Football Club has said some online shoppers may have had their financial information stolen following a security breach.

    The club said the breach occurred on the club's website between 23 April and 4 May.

    A statement read: "Upon discovery of the breach, the security of our retail platform was immediately restored and appropriate measures were taken to ensure the security of all other online assets."

    The club said it launched an immediate investigation into the breach and have been in direct contact with anyone potentially affected. It added that the police and Information Commissioner's Office have also been informed.

    A photo has been released of a man police want to speak to after a dog and its owner were allegedly attacked by another dog in Langley Mill.

    Nottinghamshire Police said the Labrador was attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog in Langley Mill Boatyard on 21 April.

    The owner was injured trying to separate the dogs and told police he was also verbally abused and had an empty bottle of beer thrown at him.

    A pensioner who has shopped from the same bakery for the past 73 years has been promised free bread and cakes for the rest of her life.

    Eileen Hibbert, 82, has been visiting Luke Evans Bakery in Greenhill Lane, Riddings, since she was nine.

    A couple from Marehay have been sent a warning letter by the council because of complaints about their peacocks.

    Dave Markham and his wife Becky Mullan-Feroze live on a farm and let the birds roam freely, meaning they sometimes stroll into housing estates in the village.

    Mrs Mullan-Feroze said the warning had caused a few laughs but they were taking it seriously.

    Work is under way to repair a Derbyshire primary school badly damaged by high winds last year.

    Norbury Primary School, in Ashbourne, suffered structural damage to its gable ends in the storm in November.

    Cricket bosses will be hoping there will be no repeat of Friday's ticketing problems at Trent Bridge when England take on Pakistan there today.

    Refunds were given out to spectators who missed the start of the World Cup game between West Indies and Pakistan due to massive queues at the ticket collection point.

    Hundreds of seats that have cradled many a cinema-goer over the years at the Broadway in Nottingham are to be donated to a neighbouring theatre.

    A total of 268 seats from the cinema on George Street are to find a new home at Nottingham Arts Theatre as the Broadway prepares to renovate a number of screens this summer.

    The 44-year-old, from Balderton, is charged with engaging in sexual communication, causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and three counts of making indecent images.

    A 90-year-old who volunteers at an NHS care centre said "you're never too old to make a difference".

    Gladys Halnon has clocked up 12 years volunteering at the Stapleford Care Centre where she celebrated her birthday.

    "It’s really good thing to get out and about and help people and see what you can do," she said.

    "It’s helping you and helping other people at the same time which I think is a good thing."

    Every Wednesday morning Ms Halnon greets patients, tidies up, makes tea and keeps noticeboards up-to-date.
