    While the debate over what should happen to Shrewsbury's swimming baths continues to rage, Shropshire Council is putting some old photos of the building on display., external

    The pool in The Quarry first opened in the 1890s and was replaced by the modern baths in 1968.

    The display can be seen outside the main committee rooms at Shirehall in Shrewsbury from tomorrow.

    Talk about feeling a little flush - a two-year-old needed help from the fire service when he got his head stuck in a toilet seat.

    Oscar Clare was caught in a toilet-training device, so there's a chance he may need a few more goes before trying the real thing. Luckily, mum Kellie Marie Allen was on hand to take him to Wellington fire station on Sunday morning to get him freed.

    She says Oscar was a bit overwhelmed by his ordeal, but was soon back to his normal self and hopes the photo gives people a giggle. He's a real Oscar winner.

    A "People's Alliance" is being set up in Ludlow, to oppose council spending cuts.

    Those behind it are setting out a vision for developing what they describe as a "more resilient" town over the next two decades.

    A meeting's being held at Ludlow Brewery at 19:00.

    In April, Shropshire Council told town and parish councils they had five months to take over local services like museums and leisure centres, or they'd risk losing them.

    A listed building in Ludlow which was once home to Catherine of Aragon, one of Henry VIII's wives, is up for sale.

    Castle Lodge was valued at nearly £1m five years ago and the property firm selling it this time, Balfours, describes it as "one of Ludlow's finest buildings".

    Thomas Seckford, an official who served Elizabeth I, also lived at the medieval 12-bedroom town house near the castle.

    After brushing aside the San Marinese minnows of Tre Penne in the first qualifying round, Oswestry-based The New Saints face former quarter finalists Apoel of Nicosia in the second round tonight.

    The first leg will be at The Saints' Park Hall home but the Welsh Champions will go into the game against their Cypriot counterparts as significant underdogs.

    The North Shropshire MP Owen Paterson has warned Theresa May - set to be the next prime minister - there must be "no rowing back" on Britain's exit from Europe.

    He was one of the leading supporters of Andrea Leadsom's campaign to be PM and he was there (second from the right, below) as she announced she would abandon her bid.

    A teacher from Telford due to swim the channel today has had to postpone his attempt because the sea is too rough.  

    Ian Preece is taking on the challenge in memory of the first man to do so, Dawley hero Captain Matthew Webb who made the swim in 1875.

    Mr Preece, a lecturer at TCAT, will now set off from Folkestone at 4am tomorrow.

    Shropshire's mental health services have been rated "good" by the Care Quality Commission. 

    Inspectors say some improvements could be made, but overall the care is safe, effective, responsive, and well-led. 

    The trust that runs the services locally delivers them to more than a million people across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Powys.
