    There's been heavy delays between Ludlow and Shrewsbury for most of today after a lorry fire on the A49 overnight. 

    Repair work is now finished and the road has reopened between Marshbrook and Wistanstow.

    The party's National Executive Committee has vetoed gatherings after claims of intimidation against members.

    Shropshire are struggling in their minor counties game against Berkshire. 

    They'll start the final day in Shifnal on 146 for 6 in their second innings, a slender lead of 43.

    Yesterday Berkshire batted well to take their first innings total to 312. Alex Wyatt finished with bowling figures of 6 for 80.

  11. Rabbit disease spreads to Shropshirepublished at 10:18 British Summer Time 19 July 2016

    A new strain of a disease that's killed hundreds of pet rabbits across the country has spread to Shropshire. 

    It's called Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease or RHDV2.

    The British Rabbit Council say it's hard to estimate the number of deaths caused by the disease, but thinks it could be around 1,000 across the country in the last six months.   

    In one outbreak in Shropshire, a breeder of Polish rabbits lost more than 20 animals in just a few weeks.
