    Two repair jobs will start at the Southwater development, external in Telford today. 

    Following the car catching fire at the car park in June, it will be fully closed for one week for refurbishment.

    A report out this morning from NFU Mutual, external says rural crime cost the Midlands £6.6m last year - up around 10% on 2014. 

    In Shropshire, rural crime cost the county £750,000 in 2015.

    Shrewsbury Town's pre-season is over and it ended with a 4-1 defeat at home to Scottish side Hibernian.

    Town start their 2016-17 League One campaign against MK Dons at Greenhous Meadow this Saturday and the manager Micky Mellon admits they must improve.

    Former Shrewsbury striker Grant Holt was on target for the visitors while new signing Jim O'Brien got Town's consolation goal.

    Work starts today to demolish part of a house near Hinstock, after a lorry crashed into it last week. 

    The A41 will be closed until the middle of the month and diversions are in place. 

    The driver wasn't injured, and the owners of the property weren't at home that evening, but Fox House is a listed building, so the demolition needs to be done carefully, piece by piece.
