    The Care Quality Commission says the practice on Limes Walk is caring, safe and effective but not as responsive or well-led as it should be. 

    Shifnal Medical Practice was rated as good.

    A recovery driver has lent a Telford family his car after they broke down on their way to going on holiday. 

    Leigh Burden was called out to a job in Bala, in North Wales, only to discover a gearbox problem that couldn't easily be repaired.

  10. Puppet collection saved by Shropshire enthusiastpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 3 August 2016

    A rare puppet collection has been saved for the nation and is on display this summer. 

    Michael Dixon from Bridgnorth is the archivist of the British Puppet and Model Theatre Guild and owns the national puppetry archive. 

    The collection is on display in Wolverhampton, thanks to lottery money.

    A Shropshire man who is awaiting a lung transplant, external has urged people to think about potentially life-saving organ transplants.

  13. West Mercia PCC 'confident' with armed police numberspublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 3 August 2016

    West Mercia's Police and Crime Commissioner says the force is well placed to react when needed. 

    Today the Mayor of London and Metropolitan Police commissioner said more armed police will be seen on London's streets from now on. 

    Home Office figures last week show West Mercia has 123 authorised firearms officers. 

    PCC John Campion says he's spoken to the chief constable about the number of firearms officers and is confident they have the right resources to respond effectively.

  14. Bridgnorth TV recycling facility given the go-aheadpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 3 August 2016

    Work is under way to develop a new TV recycling centre in Bridgnorth. 

    Twenty eight jobs are being offered at the site on Faraday Drive, which will dismantle flat-screen televisions and monitors.

    It'll be run by Veolia, the waste and recycling contractor for Shropshire Council, with the work done by a combination of man and machine.

    One of Shropshire's free range egg producers says the sector will have to expand quickly to cope with expected increased demand from supermarkets. 

    Six major stores have pledged to stop selling eggs produced by caged hens by 2025. 

    Peter Jarvis, who farms at Withington, near Shrewsbury says a change will be good for animal welfare as long as Britain can keep supplying.
