Whilst we understand that such incidents could be considered pranks by some, I would like to appeal to those carrying out this behaviour, to really consider the distress and fear they could cause people, particularly the more vulnerable members of our community such as children and the elderly."

    Nick Southall
    Journalist, BBC Shropshire

Directors are aware of the concerns raised by fans about AFC Telford United's financial position, although a club spokesman wouldn't comment on the finances, when we pressed him today.

But the board could discuss changes to the way the club is run, when it meets this evening.

Telford are currently owned by a supporters' trust set up from when the old Telford United went bust in 2004, and rose again as a committee-led fans' club.

We believe that there are potential investors waiting in the wings, who are being put off by the idea of a supporters trust having control and it will have to decide whether to relinquish that ownership.

  9. West Mercia Police arrest fewer childrenpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 10 October 2016

There's been a substantial drop in the number of children being arrested by West Mercia Police.

    Quote Message

It is particularly gratifying that, across England and Wales, the reduction in child arrests matches exactly the reduction in custody for children, and it is no coincidence. We have stemmed the flow of children into the justice system and the consequential downward spiral into crime and custody."

  13. Shropshire Council says politics should be kept out of hospitals decisionpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 10 October 2016

The future of the county's hospital services should be left to "experienced clinicians", Shropshire Council says.

A recommendation that Telford's A&E should be downgraded and women and children's services moved to Shrewsbury has angered members of Telford and Wrekin Council, but Shropshire Council has produced a statement, external saying that while it understands their concerns, politics should be kept out of the process.

    Two A&Es

The authority says it has also stressed that point to the county's MPs.
