We don't yet know the identities of the three local businesses involved in the buy-out of Telford Tigers, but we have been told they are long-term supporters of the ice hockey club, who have backed it financially in the past.

The club was placed into voluntary liquidation last week and a creditors meeting will still go ahead on 30 November, at which the buy-out is due to be discussed, but the take-over is immediate and the new owners will be in control for this weekend's fixtures.

He sold the club earlier this year, but continued to support it, pumping in another £176,000 since May.
