    Severn Trent has announced plans to improve the water supply in Shrewsbury. 

    Work to replace pipes could mean some disruption in the Porthill area during half-term.

    The company is holding a mobile drop-in session by the junction of New Street and Copthorne Road between 15:00 and 18:00 today. 

    Work is scheduled to begin on Saturday, 18 February and should take around 10 days.

  8. Wildlife Trust sees improvement in River Morda water qualitypublished at 09:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2017

    It's thought the recent chemical pollution of a Shropshire river isn't as bad as first feared.

    The Environment Agency is still investigating the spillage into the River Morda near Oswestry, which killed fish and clouded the water.

    There's also a wider concern about the river's spawning grounds.

    A Shropshire mum is warning of the dangers of children having their own phones and other devices after her daughter was groomed online. 

    The 11-year-old was targeted by strangers on chat room websites.

    The mother, who isn't being named to protect her identity, says giving her daughter a tablet device was a big mistake.

    A Shropshire man's kitchen floor is now made entirely out of 1p coins. 

    Matt Giles, from The Rock in Telford, stuck 27,000 of the coppers down individually. 

    He says the shiny new look was worth all the pain.
