    This year's Comic Relief campaign has been officially launched this morning, with details of how you can sign up and take part.

    The appeal has also been giving out details of the people who benefited from money raised last year.

    They include the Citizens Advice Bureau in Wellington, which was given £200,000 and helped people like Simon Buckley-Robins.

  3. Trump protestors turn out in Wellingtonpublished at 11:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    Around 30 or 40 demonstrators turned out in Wellington last night, to take part in protests against the immigration ban introduced by President Trump.

    Thousands of people joined in similar demonstrations around the country and there have been calls for the President's state visit to the UK to be cancelled.

    A man has been attacked in an Indian restaurant in Wellington, police say. 

    The 54-year-old was punched in the head, external while sitting in the Eastern Balti on Walker Street on Friday night. 

    Police say there were a number of diners in the restaurant at the time and would like them to get in touch.  

  6. Trust counts £250,000 cost of recruiting consultantpublished at 10:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust have had to pay £250,000 for just one consultant. 

    The cost, which includes agency fees, is three times more than the national starting salary of £76,000.

    A young Shropshire farmer has won a prestigious national award. 

    Andrew Patterson, (pictured below) from Newport, has been milking cows since the age of 10. 

    The 24-year-old has been awarded the President's Medal by the breeding company, Holstein.

    Shrewsbury Town's latest signing is confident he can prove himself at the club. 

    Striker Stefan Payne has joined on loan from Championship side Barnsley until the end of the season.

    Thor - the three-legged white fox - still hasn't been found. 

    He's been spotted a number of times since he went missing from Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom, near Telford, on Saturday.

    The four-year-old Arctic-silver fox cross has most recently been spotted near Howle, Newport. 

    Farm co-owner, Edward Dorrell, said the fox got out after a small branch fell on to his enclosure fence.

    Market Drayton Town have taken the unusual step of signing one of their players to a contract.

    The club, who play in the Evo-Stik NPL Division One South, have been inspired by Cohen Bramall's move from Hednesford to Arsenal and say they need "to protect the club's interests when big name teams come knocking on the door to take our best players".

    Bramall played for Market Drayton early in his career and the club say they want to build on their "reputation as a club that builds young talent".

    They believe winger 19-year-old Shaquille Whittingham is "one to watch for the future".
