On Midlands Today this evening we'll have news on a puppy farmer in the region who bred and sold sick and dying puppies to members of the public who has been jailed for six months.
A total of 37 puppies were seized, as well as one dead dog found in a plastic bag in a van parked at the farm.
We'll also look at the most eagerly awaited Midlands by-election for many years as we are a week away from the Stoke-on-Trent Central vote.

Bridgnorth's maternity unit will be closed again tonight because of staff sickness and because staff are needed at Telford's consultant-led unit, which is experiencing high demand.
The MLU will close at 20:00 and will re-open at 08:00 tomorrow.
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust, which runs the MLU, say midwives are still on call for home births and mums-to-be can still access support as usual, but women who go into labour tonight will be offered a home birth or a place at an alternative unit.

Patchy rain arriving this evening, giving a damp night for many with lows of 7C (45F).
The new arrival at West Midland Safari Park is exciting staff there because he is a Rothschild's giraffe - a breed which is currently listed as "endangered" by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The IUCN's co-chair Dr Julian Fennessy has warned they face a "silent extinction".
And the safari park has decided to name this baby giraffe in his honour - calling him Fennessy.
A table cricket tournament has been held in the county for students with disabilities.
It was organised by Cricket Shropshire, external , with funding from the Lord's Taverners, external charity.
Four teams took part and it was won by students from the Willow Tree Centre at Telford College of Arts and Technology.

There's been a new arrival at West Midland Safari Park - a baby giraffe.
The Rothschild?s giraffe is the third baby born there in the last six months and was born on Valentines day.
The six-foot-tall male giraffe will join Embu and Emali, who were born in August and September last year.Â
The Swiss air force is sending a display team to this summer's RAF Cosford Air Show.
They'll be flying their Pilatus PC-7 training aircraft (pictured below) and it's the first time they've appeared at the event.
The show organisers say they expect to hear in the next few weeks which RAF aircraft will be performing.

Marcus Willis is through to the semi-finals of the Aegon GB Pro-Series event in Shrewsbury after a straight sets win over Belgium's Yannick Vandenbulcke.
The Warwick-based player won 7-5, 6-3 in an hour and a half.
He's the sole remaining Brit in the draw after the Leeds teenager Jonathan Gray went out to Germany's Oscar Otte earlier.
The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms wants people to get out and record sightings of red kites during breeding season.
There are thought to be 25 breeding pairs in the county, with recent sightings in Aston-on-Clun, Norbury, Wentnor and Wenlock Edge.
The centre says that because birds were once classed as vermin, they completely disappeared from Shropshire for over a century and only returned to the county a decade ago.
Between January 2012 and the end of 2016, 727 people were reported missing from the hospitals in Shrewsbury and Telford.
Another 526 went missing from the Redwood mental health centre in Shrewsbury, according to figures released by the police.
All the patients were eventually returned, but a handful suffered minor injuries.
The longest period a patient was missing, before they were found was 13 days and 21 hours.
Plans for a Lidl supermarket on the edge of Shrewsbury look likely to get planning approval.
The supermarket chain wants to build on land owned by Shrewsbury Town football club in Meole Brace, but the scheme has been delayed because the land is protected for use by the community.
Now, the club is offering one of their training pitches as a replacement field for the community.

Shropshire's younger cricketers are being helped to challenge for a place in the county side.
Director of Cricket Karl Krikken has got members of the development squad training with the first team and had over 30 players training at Shrewsbury School in their first session.
Shropshire has three more sessions in the nets before the season starts with a one-day friendly match against Worcestershire's second team at Wrekin College on 2 April.
