The MP for Shrewsbury says he would like to see affordable homes for military veterans built on the site of the town's Copthorne barracks.
Daniel Kawczyski has written a letter to the Defence Select Committee suggesting the Ministry of Defence considers the proposal for Copthorne and other sites it is in the process of selling off.
Mr Kawczynski said he has met representatives of veterans groups who say they are concerned about the lack of assurances from the MoD.

A man who was in a car struck by a tree during Storm Doris died from a combination of chest trauma, heart issues and bronchial pneumonia, an inquest has heard.
Alan Edward Green from Craven Arms was 85 and a former decorator, and was taken to hospital in Stoke after the large tree fell onto the Ford Focus in which he was travelling on 23 February, just north of Church Stretton.
The inquest in Shrewsbury - adjourned until 29 June - heard his condition deteriorated and he died three days later.
A 47-year-old man has been stabbed at a property in the Dawley area of Telford.
He received hospital treatment for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The stabbing happened at 22:00 yesterday and police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Tamworth in connection, saying they believed it was an "isolated incident" and there was "no wider threat to the local community".
Police say a knife has been recovered and detectives are studying CCTV footage.

An inquest has opened this morning into the death of a retired factory worker following a house fire in south Shropshire last month.
The bungalow in which Diana Joyce Dasey lived with her husband caught fire in Bucknell on 24 February.
The coroner's court in Shrewsbury heard that Mrs Dasey, 70, was identified by her dental records and that the cause of death was still outstanding.
The inquest was adjourned until 24 May.

Calls have been made for harsher penalties to protect ambulance control room workers from abusive callers.
West Midlands Ambulance recorded 1,924 instances in three years, from 2013 to 2016 when a caller was abusive.
In six cases the abuse was judged to cause a "significant threat or concern".
The union Unison has urged the government to bring in tougher punishments to deter abusive callers.
The Home Office said sufficient laws were already in place.
Police forces in England and Wales received one call every 90 seconds last year about a missing person, official figures show.
In the West Mercia Police area, the number of children going missing rose by 15% in 2015/16, while the number of adults missing is up by 18% compared to the previous year.
Data from the National Crime Agency, external (NCA) reveals more than 335,000 missing person calls were made in 2015/16.
Telford Quakers are marking their 50th anniversary with a series of meetings starting tonight.
There have been Quakers in other parts of Shropshire since the 17th Century, but the birth of the new town led to growth.
Members initially met in a hut in a car park before moving to Meeting Point House where they've been ever since.

Plans to build a controversial mini-retail park in Bridgnorth will be looked at again today.
A decision was deferred in January when members of Shropshire Council said they were "minded to refuse" the application.
Developers want to build four shops and a café in between Sainsbury's and the hospital.
Critics say it would affect local businesses and lead to the loss of car parking spaces.
