The Wrekin has inspired poetry, artists, musicians and now, it seems a chocolate bar!
In launching a homage to a Toblerone, retailer Poundland said the shape and name of its Twin Peaks bar was based on the Wrekin and Ercall hills, not a certain TV series by David Lynch.
Manufactured in the West Midlands, where Poundland also has its headquarters, the retailer said it had decided to launch its bar after Toblerone dropped the weight of its bar to 150g and a bit of banter in the office led to the Wrekin.
Quote MessageWe came up with the idea of doing a double mountain. We were talking around the office and it was pretty clear people thought the Wrekin had a slight double hill at the top and that's why we went with Twin Peaks, inspired by the Wrekin in Shropshire."

The New Saints will play the away leg of their first round qualifier for the Champions League in Portugal, rather than Gibraltar, where there opponents, Europa FC, are based.
TNS will play the home leg of the tie, next week on 27 June, before playing the return match on the 4 July.
It's being reported that the game will be played in Portugal, because UEFA has banned Gibraltar football teams from playing European fixtures at the Victoria stadium, because it failed its inspection.
The winners of the tie face Croatian champions, HNK Rijeka, in second-round qualifiers.
