    One of the directors at AFC Telford United has revealed he tried to persuade the club chairman Ian Dosser not to stand down.

    But, Andy Pryce said "Ian just felt it was the right time to move on" after 13 years with the club.

    Mr Dosser is leaving at the same time as management duo Rob Smith and Larry Chambers and Andy Pryce said "the passion they have for this club is amazing, they're both brilliant guys".

    And at the same time it has been announced that Wolverhampton Wanderers are investing more money in Telford.

    A campaign group in Bridgnorth is trying to raise funds to help their local swimming pool.

    The Bridgnorth Endowed Leisure Centre was awarded £150,000 last year by Sport England to modernise the facilities.

    The pool was closed 10 months ago and work began, but unforeseen problems meant that there was a shortfall of £70,000.

    Money has been given by Bridgnorth Town Council and Shropshire Council. The Help Our Pool Bridgnorth campaign group say there is still £7,000 needed.

    Parts of the building have been refurbished and are up and running but the swimming pool remains closed. It will reopen in July despite problems with the changing rooms.

    The BBC has learnt that Wolves are providing AFC Telford United with additional financial support but not taking over the club.

    It's on top of the agreement the two clubs already have, with Wolves paying for the use of the Bucks Head for youth matches.

    Telford announced yesterday they had secured substantial new investment, but would not be drawn on whether that was linked to the Championship side.

    The Bucks made former Wolves coach Rob Edwards their new manager after Rob Smith and his assistant Larry Chambers left the club.

    Bucks Chairman Ian Dosser, who has been in place for 13 years, thought it was time to move on.

    More than £5m has been paid by developers over the last year to spend on education purposes in Telford and Wrekin.

    The cash is for planning obligations called a section 106 agreement.

    Under the scheme, people wanting to build are expected to pay local authorities when it is considered that a development will have a significant impact on the local area.

    In Telford and Wrekin, more than £5m has been paid between April last year and the end of March this year.

    Half of it has already been spent and a further £2.6m is earmarked for school refurbishments and extensions throughout the borough.

    The report will be discussed by the Labour council's ruling cabinet this evening.

    The board of Shropshire's two main hospitals will be asked to agree to suspend services at the county's rural midwife-led units at a meeting tomorrow.

    Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust is proposing to close Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Ludlow MLU's for births for between three and six months from 1 July.

    It follows a series of last-minute closures at the units over the past six months due to staff sickness.
