The headteacher of Rushbury Primary School says he is "deeply saddened" to learn of the death of one of her pupils, seven-year-old Archie Spriggs.
A police investigation was lanched after body was found at a house in Wall-under-Heywood yesterday and a 44-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Diane Pye said he was a "wonderful, bubbly boy and a much loved member of our school" and that "he will be much missed by everyone who knew him".
