    Cheshire Police have now said that 11 people have come forward to give information in relation to child sex abuse in football.

    It comes after a former Sheffield United player claimed he'd suffered abuse as a child.

    More on the news that the man accused of murdering Batley and Spen Labour MP Jo Cox has been found guilty by a jury at the Old Bailey

    Thomas Mair, 53, was accused of shooting and stabbing the mother-of-two in Birstall on 16 June, a week before the EU referendum vote.

    At his trial, Mr Mair denied murdering the mother-of-two and chose not to give any evidence in his defence.

    These are the people whose two ponies had to be put down after they strayed onto a railway line in Barnsley.

    They blame Network Rail for the incident, which in turn has denied responsibility over a damaged fence alongside the track.

    A Labour councillor in Rotherham been found guilty of sexual assault after a woman was attacked in Rotherham.

    41-year-old Andrew Roddison, external of Flatts Lane in Treeton, pleaded not guilty to the charges. 

    He has been bailed and will be sentenced at Leeds Magistrates Court on 1 December.

    The sexual assault happened at a council event after a parade in Rotherham in May.

    A drone company in Rotherham has won a 10 million euro (£8.5m) contract to monitor the pollution in Europe's rivers and seas.

    Martek Marine is to send two of its two-metre long drones to measure the sulphur and CO2 levels emitted from the exhausts of commercial ships. 

    The European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) will use the data to check if the ships meet current EU standards. Airborne sulphur is a major cause of acid rain harming crops and buildings.

    Network Rail have denied they were responsible for the deaths of two ponies hit by trains near Darton in Barnsley earlier this week. 

    Darryl Ashby, the animals' owner, says it was Network Rail's fault because they had not mended a broken trackside fence. 

    Network Rail say they had not received any reports of problems with the fence since it was last inspected in the summer.

    A man was dragged from his car and beaten, leaving him with two fractured eye sockets during a car robbery in Rotherham.

    He was attacked at a business park in Manvers, external on 2 October and police hope the images below will help catch his attacker.

    The vehicle pictured above, a black Vauxhall Astra, is thought to be connected to the robbery. However it’s believed the registration plates are false and may have been switched to another vehicle.

    People in Sheffield have been pouring out opinions on a plan to create a five-star hotel by moving Sheffield central library to a new home.

    The council says the building needs tens of millions of pounds to be spent on maintenance and repairs; something it can't afford.

    A Chinese investor is interested in developing a top-rated hotel in the city alongside other schemes for apartments in Sheffield and a school in China built with help from Sheffield.
