    New figures show the Independent Police Complaints Commission, external is dealing with nearly 200 investigations into police failures in dealing with child sexual abuse.

    A good number of those investigations, 53 cases, are in South Yorkshire, related to the much-publicised abuse scandal in Rotherham.

    Doncaster Sheffield Airport's investigating reports of an alleged security breach at the weekend. 

    A post on YouTube shows three men apparently breaking into a hangar at the site. 

    The airport says the incident was immediately reported to the relevant authorities who are now investigating. 

    A spokesman for Doncaster Sheffield airport goes on to stress that the ongoing safety and security of passengers is their number one priority.

    A police operation which has been targeting foreign national offenders who use the road network to carry out crimes is being branded a success by South Yorkshire Police. 

    So far this week eight people have been arrested, external, 144 vehicles have been stopped and 29 cars seized.

    As anticipated, the Chancellor has confirmed that Stainforth is to get new flood defences to improve protection for homes.

    Stainforth was hit by flooding in 2007 when the River Don breached its banks.

    This CCTV image shows a man police want to speak to after a claim of sexual assault.

    A 17-year-old girl who was on the 72A bus from Sheffield Interchange, says she was assaulted by a man  who also got on the bus at the interchange.

    There's a hunt for a man who is said to have tried to rape a woman on a train while her partner was in the toilet.

    It's thought the attacker was with another man and police have given a detailed description, external of the wanted man.

    It happened on a train from Sheffield to Leeds at the weekend.

    The husband of murdered MP Jo Cox has been taking to social media to share a message he says he wants people to take to heart.

    Brendan Cox says he and the couple's children were lucky to have been able to have Jo in their lives.

    Today,Thomas Mair has been found guilty of her murder.

    Some good news locally coming out of the Autumn Statement about Wentworth Woodhouse

    More than £7.5 million is going to the stately home near Rotherham, which the Chancellor described as being at a 'critical state of being lost to future generations'.

    The building needs extensive work estimated at a cost of £42 million and restoration could take 15 years to complete.
