    Regularly playing squash could help stave off death the longest, a new study suggests.

    Scientists have narrowed down the sports and types of exercise that are linked to significantly lower odds of dying sooner. Racket sports, swimming, aerobics and cycling seem to be the best for prolonging life, the research concluded.

    There's concern over the time lost by ambulance staff in Yorkshire as they wait to hand over patients to A&E.

    The number of hours lost as Yorkshire Ambulance crews wait to handover patients in hospital A&Es has more than doubled - almost 32,000 hours lost over the last financial year. 

    While the ambulances are delayed the crews are not available to attend any other emergency calls.

    Plans to build a new reservoir in a Rotherham park are causing concern. 

    This is in Boston Park where Yorkshire Water say they urgently need to replace two ageing reservoirs serving 20,000 homes and Rotherham Hospital.

    A team from Sheffield University has uncovered a rare Black Death burial pit with 48 skeletons including the remains of 27 children.

    The pit was discovered at the site of a 14th Century monastery hospital at Thornton Abbey near Immingham in North Lincolnshire.

    The project will feature on the BBC's Digging For Britain programme on 13 December.

    Jess says she is thrilled to "finally be receiving my gold medal" after Russia's Tatyana Chernova, the woman who beat her to top spot at the 2011 World Championship, was stripped of her title due to a doping offence.

    The South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner believes positive change will soon be visible after a serving officer told BBC Radio Sheffield the state of the force was scandalous. 

    The officer who is due to retire soon described the force as a mess and said he's not seeing improvements on the ground. 

    The interim Chief constable Stephen Watson took over 4 months ago and Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Billings says he's confident the force will improve:

    A teenager who trains in Sheffield was part of the team winning the first gold medal of the International Swimming Federation World Junior Diving Championships in Kazan in Russia.

    The team of Noah Williams, Katherine Torrance, Jordan Houlden and Owen Harrison secured gold with a combined score of 335.45 points.  

    Jordan Houldan who trains in Sheffield landed an inward 2 ½ somersaults with tuck from 1m, for 69.75.

    An 18-year-old man has pleaded guilty to multiple child sexual offences at Sheffield Crown Court today against two 13-year-old girls and two 14-year-old girls from the town.

    Corie Adams from Maltby abused his victims between January 2015 and early 2016, before police received information from a member of the public reporting concerns about Adams’ possible involvement in child sexual abuse.

    The police say there could well be more victims who may now be prepared to speak out:
