Grant has been a part in Vale's good start to the season which has them currently fourth in the league after 12 games.

    Quote Message

For me, he's the best midfielder in this league. His performances week-in, week-out shows that. The best thing about Grant is that he just wants to improve in training every day and in the matches he goes and does what he does in training. "

  5. Police concerned victims failing to report hate crimespublished at 10:41 British Summer Time 11 October 2016

    Pete Morgan
    Presenter, BBC Radio Stoke

Cheshire Police, external says it is concerned many victims of hate crime are failing to report incidents to the force.

Cheshire Police logo on side of car

It says there were 656 cases recorded by officers between January and August this year, including those targeted because of a disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or religion.

But the force says it believes the true figure is higher and says a lack of awareness means many more people don't come forward.

    Quote Message

We recognise it's an under-reported crime. There's an independent crime survey of England and Wales and their figures are about four-times different to those reported to the police, so we recognise there is a barrier to people coming forward."

The Potters, without a win after seven matches, are 19th in the table, but stopped a run of four straight defeats with successive draws.

A home draw with West Brom and another at Manchester United were the first points won by Mark Hughes' side since the opening day of the season.

They now face a vital run of fixtures including matches against three of the current bottom four, starting with Saturday's home game against bottom club Sunderland.

    Quote Message

They have to have a springboard and need that first win under their belts. If you don't get points in this next seven games, you've got Arsenal, Leicester, Liverpool and Chelsea to follow, so it's massive
